AS AN INTERNATIONAL , YOU HAVE SLIM CHANCES TO BE ACCEPTED IN NURSING SCHOOL. EVEN FOR THE AMERICANS THEY HAVE WAITING LIST TO GET ON THE NURSING PROGRAM, PLUS IT IS f@#KING HARD AS HELL. I GRADUATED LAST YEAR WE HAD ZERO INTERNATIONAL STUDENT IN MY CLASS. I LIVE IN MINNEAPOLIS. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT OTHER STATES. I MAY BE WRONG. GOOD LUCK.

Poudelha,Why do you specifically want to know how many Male nurses are there in the US??? You can get advisefrom anyone. It is tough, but not very tough to get enrolled in a Nursing school if you'rereally determined to become a Nurse and work hard from Day 1 at your college/university.It is certainly not as hard as Neuro has described getting admitted to Nursing schools. Youofcourse to have a very good GPA somewhere around 3.6 (atleast); your GPA will be counted from all the courses you take but there will also be a separate GPA count of Science GPA's like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and high level (3000-4000 level) major/core universitycourses. It also depends on what major/core classes you've taken and if you can, try to dosome volunteering work at a hospital or any commnunity service. That will help you a lot. There are many Nepalese Nurses (both Male and Female) who joined and completed their Nursingstudies in the US and you can surely be one of them.Have faith and trust yourself. Good Luck.

Poudelha.....I don't agree with a thought that  being international is hard to get accepted in the nursing program. It is hard for both national and international. You need to have a good GPA at least above 3.60 to get accepted. Also, you need to make sure all your pre-requisites are done before applying. It will give you more chance to get into the program. Some places will make you take a Test and an interview. Nursing is  tough and need good dedication and motivation. But remember, there is nothing impossible. I have seen male nurses doing wonderful job and providing good quality patient care. You can be one of them. Good luck.
