one of my friend works in gas station about like 60 hours per week and also he goes to university taking 15 credit hours of core 300 level classes and still he is passing with grades  A or B and i was just wondering how is that possible. I asked lots of students from different states and they all say it is very hard to make it through like that specially when someone is in his 300 or 400 level core classes about community colleges i think its not that tough.
But if someone is average student working 50-60 hrs per week and also full time student in university in his 300-400 level core classes can he or she still be able to get good grades, if anyone of you fall in this kind of situation can you elaborate on how the life would be, is it manageable to spend time for study despite working the ass off and still be able to pass not considering community college or general education courses...........

Sajha Bajha,

It is possible to do so. It is certainly hard but surely can be done. Your friend might be in TX working 60+ hours, like most students do and still get good grades. There are many students who attend universities, take high level classes, work a lot of hours weekly and study hard, and score good grades. It is appreciatiable but not surprising to me and a lot more here in TX. May be you want to try that also!

It is possible but not easy at all.

As for me and my frs that  we study better when we work around 50 hrs a week than without working, I tried that last semester without working and didn't work.at all.      u know u  can do it  but it is really hard to make good grades even without working

If u work u will be a able to manage ur time for study without working u always say I will study later and that Later never comes. believe me bro or sis I've been there and done that.

may be ur fr is PUSTAK PARSAD(Book kumar). but that is very good for him. U also need to learn from him . I think He might be inTX and UTA.

I didn't find any impossibilty and surprising with this result and condition. All may not, but people can surely tackle with this situation.

Dear Sajha_Bajha,

Nothing is impossible in this world. Whatever your friend is doing is very respectable. It is not easy to do what he is doing apparently and only he know about the pain. The one thing i have noticed if you work 50-60 hours and take 300 level course and still manage to get A or B grade then you might be doing one of the below.

a. You might be able to study at work, lets say if he is working in the gas station on a grave yard shift then its less busy and he could study there.

b. If you friend is not able to study at work then he might not have social life since he has to study long night to come up with such grades. I bet he goes out on a rare basis.

These are the only two way looking at the situation. But Like you said he is not a genius but an average student thats why the two points make sense. But miracles happens in this world,  have you heard about a student  from University of Virginia (UVA) (one of the top school in the nation) finished his bachelors degree in engineering in  four semester? That takes an average of 4 and a half year to be done rite? See so nothing is impossible if you put your heart and soul to it and yeah sometimes you need luck too.

Best Regards,
YekloYatri
