Well, I did mean US of A when I wrote it.

U got a point there. But if we had the option to change what we have written..then for example, a person can always say that he/she didn't state a particular sentence when infact they did it earlier and had edited the sentence again to avoid confrontation when things started to get messy. So where is the validity in the postings? Hmm....

And yes, I know about those links..but I just want to know if there are other methods of getting the goods through. Someone said that you need to put label in the container. But thanx for the link anyway :D

Well, though my suggestions here are worthless to xena, i will write even.

We all are not sure that the stuffs you bring is allowed in baggage or hand carrier.
Although nobody has tried my formula , why dont XENA be the first.

All you have to do is make small pouches of the things you wanna bring to the US. Make sure you use latex so it wont produce any allergies. Swallow all the gundruk, sinki, and whatnot, come to US and drink a bottle of Drucolox, which you can easily buy at CVS.

Problem solved...
Wholesale Advice.

P.S. You havent written me about the furniture you were gonna pick up from my place.

wholesale, your idea is equally brilliant as danahnah. Why don't U try your own method? And about the furniture, thanx, but my sis has already bought her stuff.

As far as I know, you should have no problem bringing them to US of A if you pack them in properly labeled containers. Label your achaars with the proper names of the ingredients. Also properly label your gundruk (fermented and dried vegetables), sinki (fermented and dried radish?) and sel roti (rice flour donuts?) packages. Just make sure they're packaged and sealed properly.

Xena, DO NOT bring any meat product, seeds, or fresh fruits/vegetables. This reminds me of an incidence from nearly 10 years ago. As requested by my friends' parents, I had brought about perhaps a 2 kg bag of buff sukuti. US aera alikati khana paaula bhanne ta afoolai ni lobh thiyo. I was not aware of the fact that bringing meat products was prohibited until I read the customs declaration form on my flight to Los Angeles. On the long walk to immigration after exiting the aircraft at LAX, there were signs reading "Dump, Declare, or Pay a $100 (?) fine." Rather than taking a chance, I decided to declare. The customs personnel asked what kind of meat it was. "Buffalo" was my answer. He sniffed the bag, dumped it in an enormous trash can, and stated "thank you for declaring." All I could do was silently curse him with all the expletives I knew. :(:(:(
