Hello Everyone. I am a new Sajha user and I found this site quit interesting. This is the right place to ask/know what others has to say about on-going issues.
I have been living in US for 7 years and I have not been to Nepal ever since I came here. I graduated on 2004 with a Computer Science degree, worked for IT company for two years. Now, I have decided to go back home for good and start new life and new career back home. I have a strong desire to be able to implement my knowledge in Nepal. But, most people I have met were in fact surprised or have negative attitude towards my returning to Nepal. According to them it will be hard for me to do anything back home because of the current political situation and the fact that there are lesser job market which it all true.
I would appreciate views/suggestion/advice of Sajha users and see what you have to say to those people like me who are willing to go back and settle their lives in Nepal after living out of country for such a long time.
Thanks

Starting up new business with big investment is a big No No at this time becuz of all the unnecessary attractions it will bring to the thugs and contortion mafias ( who knows if they are genuine maoist or not!). however, if u have made up yr mind to return consider some creative ways to set up yr business...for example you could set up small scale training centers all over the town...say 2 each in KTM, BKT and Patan...so that you diversify the risk and maintain low profile. You could then extend across other major towns of Nepal later on if you succeed in the valley...or u could start from outside the KTM valley and make your way in (even better idea). If any maoist sense your operation and come behind you for money tell them you wil instead take some of their cadres and train them free or at a discount (but you have to first convince the ring leader that such education will help them in the long run....)...
There are thousands of people doing such type of business and surviving the current political turmoil...if they can do it surely you could. Some of must like yourself must return otherwise how would the country rely on those cowboys to run it..go man..go back and give back to your country...ama nepal will be proud of you!!! jai Nepal

I appreciate you on your beautiful thought. Sometime I think the same way. I know why you want to go return and do something for your homeland. It is because you haven't been there since long time and missing your birth place, family and friends so badly. Am I right?

One thing I can guarantee you that you will get fade up after you live there for a year because of various reasons (I guess I don't have to explain all that). It is not that easy to survive there as you are thinking now. The thing will never go as you want. In the beginning, you will feel so happy seeing your friends. They would be happy seeing you too and will hang out with you for a certain time. After that, they won't do that. You can't have the same life as you had when you left Nepal. I would suggest you to visit there and spend few months with your family and friends and come back.
