PG county is not just Bowie and north DC... theres so many good places... there are nice places around beltsville... laulrel... theres so many good places... baltimore is not bad.. see thats the thing.. when u say baltimore everyone assumes its just black.. just like when u say brooklyn u automatically assume the hoods and blocks and all that... its a lil more than that.. B'more, been livin here for 5 years now.. its great.. i woudn't trade this place with anywhere else.. well maybe San Diego CA... ;-)
St mary's county sounds a lil too white to me mary... it is St mary's county ain't it?? southern maryland i am definitely sure.. beside .. if u have to drive up to get jobs other than blue collor, how fun is it?? How's the bars and stuffs?? i bet they look at u like whos this alien?? lol... maybe u can come up sometime...
himalayas, G'burg, rockville area is good.. but too many mexicans man.. and its freakin expensive...i'll rent two or three bedroom apartment in B'more instead of payin the same amount for a studio in Rockville area... montgomary county's over rated i think...

I am not from St Mary's county though but i know it's boring over thr..Baltimore is a real crime place coz i know many people who have moved from Baltimore over here ...just becoz of the blacks n even the area looks bad...

mary, you can't be stereotype and judge just like that.. there are good parts and bad parts everywhere and baltimore has its own... would u wanna live in the trailer park complex down there? i wouldn't think so.. there are more good place than bad... but then again.. i am not tryinna make u come over here.. i am just tryinna tell u Baltimore is not as bad as they say it is... but then again its the human nature to assume from what we hear... like switzerland , amsterdam and all these good places ( again its just an assumption) ...

I will take Mexicans for scarey shooters.. Hey I had a store in Laurel Mall and I was scared to go there. So no matter where you say PG is PG, Aslo Baltimore, it depends where it is. If its Owings Mills I will take but Towson (Prem Nagar) I would not suggest. Also when you say cheaper I don't think so coz I was paying 825 and everything was includedin Gaithersburg but When I started looking for an appt in OwingsMIlls it was more expensive plus had to pay Utility so you do the math,

You like PG if you are a member of MS13 gang. Just like Himalaya said, PG is PG no matter where you reside. I think Germantown is the best place to live as it is growing significantly and more quiet and peaceful than most other DC metro suburbs. It is just my opinion however, may be because I live there. :)

I live in PG county. Its not that bad as you guys are making it. yes it is bad comapared to Rockville, Germantown and other places. But there are nice places in PG county as well. Lanham, Beltsville, New Carrolton are nice. Its not such a nice place to live considering your neighborhood, but you will be fine if you dont interfere in other ppls lives. Just mind your own business and dont act like you're the hero, they you should be fine.

and about that MS13 gang, they are not waiting over here for you to come so that they can shoot you. Montgomery county is really nice place to live. Places like SilverSpring, Rockville, Bethesda, Wheaton, Glenmont, Twinbrook, Whiteflint, Shady Grove, Friendship Heights are nice to live and they are served by DC metro as well.

i don't know man.. whatever it is i like baltimore.. white marsh to be more specific... himalaya.. prem nagar ain't that bad man... its just too many rats inside the apartment thats all... lol... towson is good.. White Marsh is great though..

montgomery county is a high tax area. thats why you found it expensive over there.

Who says PG is not nice, just cause you go to places where you shouldn't doesn't make PG bad, there are areas like that all over DC metro, VA and MD. But there are better and nice places too. There houses that cost 1 million and up in this area too. There are lots of places in PG which are nice and quite to live as well as cheaper considering most countys sorrounding DC. Plus.. DC is soooooooooo accesible and near from the towns or suburbs of PG county.
I don't know what better is for anyone of you but I find it convinent,cheap and easy to live in PG county... by the way University of Maryland is in PG county. Nasa Goddard is in PG county.

StillReturns I agree with you, I'd rather live in B'more than DC.... alll the northern part of B'more is great to live, don't worry about gangs and shit anywhere you live, try living in a lil expensive area anywhere, gangs can't afford that, so there is no problem. Even in Montogomery county if you live in regular areas lots of hispanics,immigrants and blacks. That is why we all have to work hard, make enough dough and move to an affulent area your worries are gone.

BornFree welcome to DC-Metro, you will find this everywhere(DC) nepali people don't get along like where ever you are moving from, so get used to it. It's like living in KTM kathmandu,lalitpur,bhaktapur nobody gets along, but the younger educated crowd is one of the best. once again welcome, it all depends how deep your pocket is!!!!!!

BORNFIRE, ALEXENDRIA IS GONNA TOO FAR FOR IF YOU ARE GOING TO UDC. THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE IS IN BETHESDA, IT IS LITTLE EXPENSIVE THOUGH.
