I am going to Barcelona in August for my MBA studies. I would like to know and chat with the Nepalese who are in Barcelona. I would also welcome any general tips and suggestions.

Barcelona is awesome. ......they got lovely fish restaurants...ofcourse where you get fresh grilled fish with garlic and tomato. :) But summer sucks....very hot. Sometimes you even feel you are in India. :)

No I am not going on scholarship. The school I am going to provides a guaranteed tuition loan once you are admitted. The tuition cost for this school is about 59000 Euros for 2 years.

Hmmm that expensive...why dont you try somewhere where they got free education or where you have to pay only the very minimum amount and ofcourse with the same facility? hmmm

59,000 Euros for two years?
That means, 76,700 US dollars.
That further means: almost $ 40 K per year (tuition alone) for an MBA

Can I assume that you are going to IESE?
If so, congratulations.

Barcelona, did you say Euro 59000? That is almost 77 K in USD.

Tution cost for Harvard Grad. School is abt. $35-36 K.

MIT has almost $40 k.

Yale Grad. School is almost $27 k

Even though in 'real' value, in terms of knowledge gained would not be any different than most of the other big schools, it certainly has an appeal and often gives myopic view to people looking from outside.

With the exception of MIT which in my humble opinion has something more to offer except 'name' where you really have to have something far better than oridinary, I would assume others just charge for the name they have. Oh yeah and the faculty too.:).

I reckon if the tution cost alone for the Uni. in Barcelona is Euro . 59 K aka $77 K , it must be some school with stratospheric standards. I am curious to know more about your school ( to be). But isn't it rather expensive? Does it include living expenses? Haha, I'm getting too curious now. Sorry.

Barcelona, you are going to Spain, why do you need to have a nepali around? Go to a new place, meet new people and have new experiences.
It is in human nature that we tend to mix and get along with people who are similar in personaliy. But when given such a beautiful opportunity to meet different people, I don't understand why you would still want to meet nepali. Hey in most cases, meeting nepalis and knowing them actually bring more hassels than pleasant experience.
When I first came to nepal, people were like, hey I know few nepalis, let me introduce them to you. For me, if I had wanted to meet nepalis so bad, I would have stayed in Nepal.
Can we not survive independently or are we so insecure that we don't trust ourselves in making new and different friends?

I don't think it has to be a "either/or" situtation. I can meet Nepalese and at the same time meet people of other nationalities.

I don't agree with your statement

I haven't had that experience and I know many people who like to be with Nepalese and at the same time mix with people from different national backgrounds. And they have't got into hassles for associating themselves with other Nepalese. It could be an isolated incident you might have experienced.
