I recently joined one of a fitness center. I literally visited 4/5 times. I had paid $100 joining fee and they had told me that I can freeze my account if I want in future. As I did not get time to hit the gym, I called them to freeze my account, they said they can do it only for 2 months with a doctors preskription. Then when I asked them that if I want to cancel they said, I cant if I am not relocating anywhere or I can if I pay 3 months due ($270). I did not know all that terms when I joined. They said it was in the terms I signed. As I signed 7/8 pages, I did not read those clauses which is my fault. Do you guys think I can get ride of this without paying the amount? Thinking of saying that traveling back home for an uncertain time.Not sure, if it works.

I had the same problem once with 24 Hrs fitness. Luckily I had a friend in Admore, OK and they did not have the facility in that city. Changed my address on my phone bill, submitted the new statement with new address to let them know I moved to a new address, and the membership was cancelled.

Thanks, nepaliketo123. They have said that I have to share either lease agreement or utility bill from the new location so not sure if phone bill will be allowed. License is also fine for them but I am not relocating anywhere so can't share any of them
