My graduation is near. Its about time for me apply for my OPT. I already have applied for TPS. Should i apply for OPT as well? Or no?

It's getting confusing. Once you have TPS , is your status F-1 or does it become TPS ?

@Chinday, I suggest to go with TPS EAD, I am not sure you will have 17 months extension or not. in either case TPS EAD will be good for F1 status. talk with your DSO, to hold your Sevis, anyway you will be in OPT period and not taking any classes.

If you apply for TPS ( doesn't matter you apply for TPS EAD or not), but do not apply for OPT, then to keep maintaining your status (if you want to come back to f1 status when TPS ends) you have to keep going to school. consult with your school too. This is not a legal advice, just an opinion.
