baal is actually hindi word...it means a strand of hair and when used in a conversation it implements something very little..so when u say baalai vayena we understand that it doesnt effect u even in a small way....doesnt even effect ur hair...smthng like dat.

Hey Pilot. I appreciate your analysis. You are 75% right. but not 100%. Bal word is basically used in terai region and that was not Bal actually "BAR" means hair of pubic area. When people came to KTM from terai, they want to be sober so they change taht bar to bal. If you have hair loss from your pubic area then you will care. I think no, so Bal bahyena bhaneko, Bhutla jharyo bhane ke ko peer.

yeah..baal is used more often in Terai ..in fact, around eastern terai..the use of baal in ktm has been very recent..all my friends in terai use baal..but many of them from Ktm haven't known of that word..eastern terai youth have a different dialect,,"billa bhayo yaar...baal diyena..bhitti ..".and stuffs like that..i have found many nepalese not aware or not using these words..

Baal means pubic hair in Bengali. People from eastern India and Bangladesh use 'baal' when they show hate or anger. I think this influenced eastern Nepalese and Nepalese living in eastern India and Darjeeling.
