Dude, You need to survey in the appropriate market. Most of the people who come here are living outside Nepal and what do you expect from them? I would suggest that you conduct a survey in Kathmandu. But, from what I have seen, Nepal still needs to go a long way before it starts to hire such agencies...

This is excellent idea...Though Nepal is poor country..we have seen how much people spend on these weddings ..I don't see why it wouldn't work your clients can be from Rich to Middle class. Organizing reception in hotels still cost a lot of money and if some one doesn't have enough resources to run around caterer, decorator etc etc..they might very likely hire such agency. But i wonder aren't there any such kind of agency in Nepal. Who is going to Take my buisness..I can be your first client...hahahaha:) but beside being my wedding planner you should find me bride too.

thnx imi you r right. no matter wat is the financial condition of the people people still spend lot of money on the wedding. and as the agency is tryin to focus only majjor cities i think its profitable but i still need ur view guys.regardin bibas comment he rightly pointed tht i need to go KTM for reasearch but before makin any decision i want to know wat u all think as research will cost lot of money.giv ur comments freely, so tht we can decide to hav prelimanary feasibility analysis in the capital itself.

I do not think the research would cost a lot of money only thing is this is seasonal business unlike US.Generally in Mangsir , i think there is more marriages so you would be able to see the peak time. Point to see: 1] Analysis on how much on avg. people spend on venue, cater, music and deco - not jewelery and other stuff. 2]Peak time and low time business 3]Other competition from catering halls etc 4] How can you diversify your business - planning wedding + planning something else ?like concerts etc 5]Are people willing to hire such agency for reasonable cost ?research on hassles and what would you buisness provide solution 6] what are the chances of ventures like - you can't do eveything alone so u need partners - businesses well,i guess you know what you are doing. Nothing is impossible KTM is not same anymore when you left it well may i say when i left it .it has changed alot

Nirvana, I told you to go and survey the actual market because the hotels have been arranging the wedding party be it formal or informal for quite a while now. I guess as a wedding planner, you are expecting to run the party as well right? So, if you are really into this, form a network with the hotels who already have expertise in some sense while you bring your expertise to the field. I would suggest forming a network with hotels of different standards(and thus the prices) to suit the income differential among people. The prices in hotels are expensive, but you should be able to cut that down. Moreover, many hotels provide the space for free/nominal charges but require a high premium for catering. So, things aren't obvious from the surface. Go and do the needful if you are serious.
