Go for Ivy League colleges. If you can get selected for admission there, money is no object. Sure the tuition is 3 times more than your limit, but they will find a way so that you can attend their school - grants, loans and work-study.

it really does not matter where you go to school..unless u r going to TOP 1 TIER school. ivy leagues, and alikes (duke, swarthmore, lafayette, grinnell, fairfield, pomona .... selected hard to get admitted liberal arts colleges)... and u can add mit, caltech and stanford in there too...

beside those... its rats a$$ where u went. (no offense) It depends in INDIVIDUAL in getting INTERNSHIP and JOBS. Their talents and how well they are in COMMUNICATION and could make their points across.

If u have a financial constraints.. go to community colleges for first 2 years and then x-fer to state schools. Most of the state schools have some kind of program with community colleges about degree and credit transfer. this way u can save tons of money.

as always

ABCDE dude i am not yet in UDC.........but is planning to transfer to UDC this dec for spring 2007 k.
i found out that tuition fees is reasonable. something like $2500 for semester. with books and other fees should be $3000 per semester.
so you still wanna got to UDC. then you need to hurry up.
the dateline for spring semster is Mid September.
all your documents must have reach the UDC office before mid spetember.
you contact the office at http:// www.udc.edu

email me if you are interested in going to udc

UDC is anything but a good school.
It surely is cheap but guess what - u'll always regret u spent ur time and money at this ghetto university.

I am a local from DC-MD-VA area therefore I know fair amount of facts about UDC. If you are considering DC metro area, spending first two years at Montgomery College or NOVA college and then transferring to UMCP or GMU will be a wise decision. As someone already mentioned, two of these community colleges have transfer agreement with UMCP and GMU.

Montgomery College costs about $3000/sem and UMCP costs $10,000/sem as an international student.

Actually ThapaP is right!!!
No body gives a damn which school you went !!!If you didn't graduate from top10-20 colleges basically all are same. All UCs or Cal State are same.
Even if you go to top 10 college ,it just helps you to land in first job after that you are on your own.No university tags helps you.A guy from 4th tier univesity is equal to 1st tier univ. at work if they are working in the same team at same level and capacity.

ABCDE dude don't listen to this all bullsit and crap k.
UDC is compartively lower in cost because it is an public instituition. Secondly UDC receives federal grants from the government higher than most colleges.
therefore the cost is somewhat lower than most colleges.
But lower in cost doesen't means that UDC education is par below other colleges K.
Of course who weren't want to go to Harvard and Princeton and so called IVY league schools. where got $$$$.
$$$$ talks and action later yaar.

some people judge college and its education just because it looks ghetto and by its tuition cost.
common on this is America and not Nepal

just follow your heart and dreams

UDC is not even a third tier university.
but totally agreeing with dude saying it's same to graduate from any universities. After getting out of school it is only the first job that the name tag helps, after that you are on your own. JOBS are all about people skill.

I in singing this song now, 10% luck, 15% skill, 75% power of will.(well goes sth like that) Same with the job man, weighing more on you people skill than your college's name.

Coming back to UDC, back 5 sth years ago, the school had to sell a piece of it's land to save itself from bankruptcy. Although, it is in the lungs of DC, considering white house a heart, the school is not as good as it's counterpart Howard Univ.

Yes, it is cheap, but so in NOVA which is across the river and Montgomery College up north which is best value if you want to pursue later in 2nd tier universities as the likes of GMU or UMCP.
