Does anyone know how to change status from TPS to F2. I came here in F2 then changed to F1 and once I have TPS I only maintained my TPS. My visa has expired. I worked with my Opt for while and then I went for TPS EAD. My husband is still in F1 status, How do I go back to F2 status. Do I need to go out of country to apply for visa?

Quick update to all whom it may concern. To change the status from TPS to F2 I do need to get out the country. The DSO mentioned that, only having I-20 will not automatically change my status from TPS to F2. I have to apply for change of status and I can do that two ways. 1. Get out of the country (go to Nepal or Canada and apply for change of status and stamp visa) 2. Apply for change of status from united states (will take about 9 months) Now, my concern is back to the advance parole (AP). i want to go Nepal and apply for change of status coz its quick and less painful. I have applied for re-registration of TPS and EAD on June 4th, and haven't heard anything so far on approval. so can I apply for AP now? Do I need any additional documents?

Yeah you can apply AP because it's take so long to get back, and also you can do change of status too, just thought if it works you don't have to go back Nepal, I am doing the same things,I just applied for change of status and planning to take AP too, if something happen

The reason I applied for AP is, I want to go to Nepal when I can (i.e. TPS with AP). I want to come back, continue work with TPS EAD and then start the change of status process. That way I can use the whole period of TPS EAD and also use TPS AP to get out of the country. BMP05@ Have u already started the change of status process then its not good idea to get of country, its considered abandoning the process and once u r status is changed from TPS to F2, u are no longer eligible to work or ur EAD becomes invalid (based on my last phone call with USCIS officer)
