Do you guys know any good health insurance option while working with consultancy ( I am using OPT and I will be using TPS EAD)? I actually need to go to see a doctor as well. So, I am trying to figure out a good option. Please feel free to give any suggestion or idea.

@Ramboo and maxpyane I can't wait till November because I am supposed have a health insurance while working and I don't think I should be working till November without one. Can a person who is working in IT eligible to apply government healthcare options? My consultancy does have some options but they are not good. Therefore, I am trying to find other options. I don't know which one to pick because I will be using it. :(

Assuming you make at least 60k, you don't qualify for any subsidies. If you don't like company insurance, you can just buy it with any company that works on your state. Don't ha r to wait until November.

Just go to your state health connector site, if not just go buy direct from insurance provider in your state.

I am searching on google. It shows a lot of options, i am contacting them, it's kinda confusing. I don't want to be stuck with some bad one. I have had a bad experience in the past. As I mentioned earlier, I will be using it because I have seen doctors from county hospitals when I was eligible to receive their services from them but it was disappointing. They were not well-equipped and not much interested in the treatment (long story short). They did a few tests and said everything looks normal but I am suffering every day for years and now it's getting worse. they said we don't know what's going on. I want to take care of it as soon as I can. That's why I am trying search every where because it's so confusing without any good reference. Therefore, I have to pick a good one and I don't want any hassle while claiming.

sems ur suffering alot form your health issue, ur questions are kind of unclear, if u could be specific then its easier to answer, what problem do u have in particular ? first i thought u jus want a routine check up, now i am feeling u have a serious history of illness, unlike auto insurance health insurance is lil bit tricky, cobra is a bridge insurance worthy and affordable but if u have a history of illness in us medical system they will not cover for your major medical bills including surgery, mri and other issues. consultalcy insurance is kindo of crappy, good for nothing, ( it used to be not sure about now ). genetically we indian, nepali have some health issue that other american dnt have so if u have such issues these primary care doctor dont respense well, doctor treat u well if u have good insurance ( its a business) in this scenario i would suggest to contact some nepali doctors in usa .. there is a forum of nepali doctors, u can seek advice from them, its better to ask to them prior to any check up because they know what kind of disease or illness we have then according to their suggestion u can directly go to specialist , this way u save time n money.. some major surgeries or illness are better treated in nepal, its just not about cost but it comes with associated complications. a good insurance cost about 14000 a year for 2 people, i know my employer used to pay this. a small surgery which cost only 50000 in good hospital in nepal cost around 200K in usa. my hospital send this bill to my insurance which after negotiations the insurance paid around 125 k .out of 125k expense my copay was just 200 deductible which i got refund from my employee union later. being sick is a mess in usa. take unofficial advise from nepali or indian doctor if u have report u can show them. i dnt know about indian doctors but nepalese dnt charge for it they are happy to help u. u can also take advise form medicity hospital in nepal via online but in this case they will only guide u according to nepali protocol but if u consult nepali american doctors they will help u according to us protocol

You said your company has health insurance options. Upload the snapshots of the benefits and maybe someone can decide which option is suitable for you. How bad a company provided insurance can be.
