Hi! To all. The purpose of this post is to gain some knowledge about the job market in Toronto thru my Torontonian fellow Nepalese living there. I am thinking of applying for a Canadian PR like most of the people these days, but unlike most of them, I am planning to stay and work there. I understand Canada attracts many immigrants every year, mostly for the reason of easy work permission in the US on TN status. My intention, on the other hand is to migrate there.
Many of my friends and family have been trying to reason me against my choice, and for their argument they use facts (according to them) such as high taxes, extreme weather and high unemployment rate. Now I understand the reason for high taxes and the extreme weather, and am willing to live with it if get a decent job in a couple of years of migrating there. Hence, I will need some help from anyone out there answering my question regarding unemployment/employment.
If/when I migrate to Toronto, I am planning on applying for a Business Analyst or a Financial Analyst position. I know it is going to be tough for me to get a decent job right at the beginning, but I am willing to work on any Business related field as soon as I get there. I have finished my Undergrad from the US in Accounting as my major and Hospitality (Business Management) as my minor. I have a few years of experience working as an Accounts payable, Accounts Receivable and General Book-keeper. Can someone tell me what my chances are on getting a job as soon as I get there. Any input by anyone will be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

I have a feeling that you have a high chances in getting a job in that field. If i was you i will start looking up on www.Workopolis.com and www.monster.ca. But it is tough to get a job in canada compare to US. At the same time "DO NOT LOOSE YOUR HOPES"

Good Luck

jungi, its not that hard to get a job if u have american education and experience too. It all depends on you. And once u get yr PR then u can apply to some other university for Co-op program then it will be more easier for you.
Good luck for you

Do not agree with "high unemployment rate" argument. Canada is one of best places to live in this earth from many aspects. Yea, taxes are higher than in the US but social services such as health care are the best in the world.

It is not difficult to get a job in Canada. Many people come here to settle down, raise family, live in peace and security. So come north, work hard, live peacefully and enjoy!!!

Thanx Catty,
I actually had another question, not regarding employment but redarding the studies. This is not a general question, someone who might have researched on it or experienced will only be able to answer it. My question is, After finishing my Masters from Canada, can I appear in the American CPA examination? I know Canada has CGA and CA which is their equivalent, but I am interested in appearing on the CPA. Anyone willing to shed any light on this matter is greatly appreciated.
