There is no way in hell that Nepal as a country would survive for long, so before things get out of hand and other episode of killings begins I think the country might as well give each ethnic groups it own demand and let the nature take course. I dont see now or in any life time where the different ethnic groups of Nepal could join hands to make peaceful and developing Nepal. I think we should take out this rally in DC, what you guys think?

Nepe, Do you think taking out rallies will change the thinking of people, on top of that at DC, people in Nepal won't even know about the rally. If rallies would work, lot of sadhvab rallies have already been organized, still everything remains the same. Nepalese learn from their own mistakes ....... I hope we will learn .... I still doubt it though. I still hope aeverything will work fine for transition periods are always confusing.

Nepal is NEVER going to be peaceful. I have lost all hope. Everyone is the same, nobody is going to change anything. We will always be the poorest country in the world. God Bless us!

ritthe_jasus bro, I admire you optimism but the fact of the matter is somethings in life are never meant to happen like in the case of Nepal. There should have never been a Nepal in the first place but it came about and now its getting out of hand.

I was only being sarcastic to suggest for bandhs. I don't think any rally, that again in DC, is going to chage the course of Nepal. Not to mention the fact that Nepalese in DC are as divided as those in Nepal. Different spokesmen for different factions in Nepal, some with strong connections with congressmen and US govt. officials. Try functions at George Mason and elsewhere in DC to find out how 'united' nepalese are there.

don't lose hope jai_nepal, hope encourages you to work for better tomorrow. Everything that is happening in Nepal are the results of the lack of education. Few learned oppurtunists are trying to take advantage of the uneducated mass. It may take a generation but people will realize.

Thats what I am talking about funkybuddha917 bro, we are divided when we are outside of Nepal what makes anyone so sure we will ever be united. Nepalese have and will alway be divided among their own ethnic groups so whats the point of having a united country. Also I already know how much the new generation care about Nepal, but on top of that there are at least 200000 Nepali people leaving the country in a year. At that rate it won't take time for Nepal sieze as a country. And when these people leave the country they fall into their enthnic groups and again comes division. The vicious cycle is never over and it will continue until we either kill each other, or we sieze to exist which is not very long from now. (15 to 20 years at most)

ritthe_jasus bro, I dont blame everything in education because if you cant make good judgements regauarding what level of education you are at, then at any level of education you will make the same judgement. As far as waiting for generation is concerned the way people are leaving the country in few year only the old people would be left who is there to give education or anything.

We are already divided into bahun chettri, rai, limbu, magar, tamang, tharu etc... so why do we still need united Nepal where even the community is not united.

Problems are meant to be solved, not run away form them. Dividing Nepal is not a solution and can never be one. If a communal harmony is disturbed, because of some stupid ppl, who, all cares abt power and money, they need to be taken care of. Ofcourse, many of the demands put forward by madhesi ppl are absolutely legitimate and they should be given thoughtful consideration if the EKATA of this country is to be keep intact!!

I know many people are optimistic about things but there are things that are just not meant to be and I believe this is one of it. I will respect you beliefs but I will keep posting mine so that if and when this happens then I can show you what I meant by dividing Nepal now. Gauleykanchaa these are the demands set by the Madhesi of bihari origin: Madhesi leaders seek Indian backing POST REPORT NEW DELHI, Feb 9 - Madheshi leaders have urged Indian leaders to cooperate in helping them attain their demands for federal structure, constitutional right to Hindi language and assurance of their representation in parliament and all other organs of government. In a press meet organized at the Press Club of India by Madheshi Front, a recently organized joint forum of Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF), they urged Indian leaders to help preserve their identity in Nepal. The Madhesi leaders also said the Prime Minister's address on Wednesday was a positive step to resolve the issues of Madhesi groups. They however, expressed doubt over the implementation of the government's commitment in this regard. Lawmaker of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Renu Yadav, one of the members in the 40-member team, said, "They came to India to apprise Indian leaders about the problems faced by Madhesi people in Nepal." During their three-day visit to India, Madhesi leaders also handed over a two-page long memorandum to Indian leaders. The memorandum has sought help from Indian leaders in collecting census of the Terai region before constituent assembly polls and assurance that the land of Madhesis will not be provided to non-Madhesis in the name of land reforms. The Madhesi delegation also met General Secretary of Communist Party of India AB Bardan, Speaker Prakash Jabedkar and lawmaker Ananda Singh. ***********************************************************************

Here is another one: *********************************************************************** Houses belonging to Mitra Lal Pokhrel, Narayan Pokhrel, Dadi Ram Pokhrel, Mohan Pokhrel, Ishwor Timilsena and Ram Bahadur Pokhrel of Bastipur were completely gutted by the fire. The settlement has become totally deserted after the arson. Local resident Bishnu Timilsena said that she fled with her newborn baby after scores of irate people started to set fire to her house. "They started setting fire to the house and told their people to loot all the houses of the Pahades," she said recalling the incident. The group also looted over Rs 2.4 million in cash from 17 houses including those of Laxmi Pokhrel, Yubraj Timilsena, Him Lal Wagle, Nain Dutta Pokhrel, Rabindra Wagle, Khumraj Pokhrel and Nandu Pokhrel. The locals said that the group also took away cattle from the houses and smashed kitchen utensils. Following the destruction, local human rights activists have installed the displaced at the house of Bijay Wagle of the same VDC. *********************************************************************** Is this the demand you support of Madhesi? They have their demand which is fine but at the expance of other Nepalese, then it is bullshit.

Mr ne23pe, As far as those ppl going to india and asking help from indian leaders about their cause, I dont see any problems there. We, ourselves, have done so in the past. Be it during the 1990 mass movement or the recently concluded one. As far as autocracy committed by ppl in that struggle, yes i have a big problem with it. But all I am talking here is whether the problems will be solved if the nepal is divided into different countries or not?? Let us say we divide nepal and let madhesi remain in madhes and pahadi remain in pahad. What if newari ppl tommorow revolt against baun and chettri in kathamandu?? In that case would you again suggest that kathmandu be divided into newari region and bahun/chettri region. I dont think dividing the country works, when a certain segment of our own society is asking equal rights as enjoyed by other segment of the same society!!
