If you are students or researchers in the areas of Biomedical Science or have interests in it, a recently launched "International Nepali Biomedical Society (INBS)" invites you to join and actively participate. For details, please visit http://www.nepal-biomed.org Also see in Nepalnews: http://www.nepalnews.com/archive/2006/apr/apr16/news08.php Biomedical Science incorporates multiple disciplines, including cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology and immunology, the ultimate aim of which is understanding the basis of life, finding novel treatments to cure human diseases and developing technologies to meet human needs.

Apart from the long term goal of the society in integrating research in biomedical sciences in various institutions in Nepal, we’re also interested in helping students applying to graduate/undergraduate institutions here in US and abroad, putting together information and opportunities available for summer internships, potential jobs after graduation, developing network with professionals in the field and guidance for students who are in a dilemma about pursuing a career in biomedical sciences. Having been through such myriad dilemmas myself, I’d like to encourage individuals to be a member and take advantage of this society that is built in the premise of promoting the education of biomedical sciences among Nepalis.
