Most of you must have heard about Terri Schiavo if you are in the United States. I just want to know what most Nepali think about her case.

Yes, it is indeed a very sad life and death case! To my Nepali mind I think Terri affects so many in terms of "karma", "lekheko..." " sihwar ko ichha" "bhognai parne uski aphanta le siharnai parne. But she is lucky in that she was born in America and not in some developing countries like Nepal. However, if she died....."bichara ko dukhkhai lukyo!
Can we say her life is in God's hand and not judges' or politicians'.

Terri's brain is damaged but Jeff Weiss' was damaged completely. The boy who shot dead his grand father and 9 other before taking his onw life!!

i do not know of ANY able bodied person who would even consider a vegetative, non-concious life worth living

I dont get especially this President...Condoms..no!, because its unnatural...although it saves people from deadly diseases. Although Shchiavo has been kept alive...a log for this long by the use of unnatural ues of tubes and poking holes all over the body, hey wait, life is at stake here. And religion?, what a crap people, if it was in gods hand no feeding tube would have kept her alive, and if you still think it was god's will she is alive, would you like to bet on her life?, if the feeding tube is removed, do you think the god will still keep her alive, that she will wake up?

Knowing the nature of politicians, it is an easy choice. The court is much more credible than the legislature - and especially not this legislature, if you catch my drift.

An objective perspective on this, in my opinion, is as follows.

Husband's decision to allow Terry to let go of her tenuous so called life is rational, hence, the right one.

He did try for three years to revive her, spending all the money he won from the lawsuit on finding his wife's cure. So we know he is not motivated by money.

The doctors, with all their insight and foresight, believe that most of Terri's brain is now just a mush and only the stem-section, which causes the reflex movements, is still intact. On that premise, they are asserting that Terri Schiavo is brain dead and is in persistent vegitative state.

Parents' decision, it seems to me, is motivated by the love for their child. Who, but the most heartlesss, could not sympathize with them. However, the fact remains their decision is an emotional one and not rational.

Still, who are we to judge. We have not walked in the husband's shoes, nor that of the parents'. And above all, it is the family's private affair. Bush, being Bush, with his right-wing cohorts, I think are the ones who made wrong decision by poking their collective nose into this family's private affair.

As for me, why the world should care much about a woman who is in pvs for 15 years and still making a headline in western press just for the debate about letting a virtually dead woman continue to breathe or not.
If I was president Bush, I'd let her pass away peacefully. But here's another Bush and the Americans who have no other works to do except shitting in such petty things. Schiavo is American and therefore an almost dead being is making such a wave.

But see, millions of peple are dying of hunger and Aids and natural disasters everyday. What about there life? These Americans are assholes. What a shame that the Indian parliament bowed down to Big American Pharmas to endorse the patent law making cheap generic drugs now unaffordable to the poors. Americans suck. Suck the poors yankies.

Newuser u more or less said what I think. There is this one girl brain dead for the last 15 years and they want to keep her alive spending millions on her alone. Whereas 1000s are dying throughout the world. DUMB!

The time and energy spent on her case, use it for something else, maybe on solving about the mass shootings in the Indian Reservation in MN. OR something productive.

Eitherways, there is no happy ending here. Khai yeso mukh herda, jahile haseko jasto dekhchu.. bolauda pani yeta uta farkincha jasto cha TV ma ta. Feri completely oblivious & brain dead pani bhancha. Khai ke ho ke. Bhagwaan unka bhala kare. I would not want to be the one to decide.

Democrat have accused republicans of pushing the PRO-Life agenda through this case. However, none of the politicans or journalists (including minorty) have accused republicans of racism.

I am speaking hypothetically not actual facts. Had it been _______ would their reaction been the same ?

One thing is for sure tht we can't play God...Terri does not have any advanced directives..being alive, she is living a dead life....i m sure none of us here would be willing to live in PVS... the suffering n the cost is just ridiculous...there is NO WAY tht she can be recovered..her cerebrum or whtever (one of the parts of the brain) is completely gone which is a MUST for normal human functions..so i think her family should let her go... but who m i to decide??....yesto haalat ta dushman ko pani nahos...

here in florida every one is talking about terri.i live in same county as her family and hearing what others say, the opinion is really divided into half.half of the people support her husband and half are for her family. personally i think she should be given a chnace to die peacefully. the fight between the courts and the politicians is getting really ugly.
