Yeah ... he should have praised the king for this endeavor. He should have come with royal garlands from Queen Elizabeth II to greet the King. He should have said how much Nepal has developed since Nepal was united 250 years ago. A pity there was no photography about 300 years, otherwise should have compared today's parade with those carried out in front of King Prithvi. Said, "Oh Might King, thakn You for allowing me to witness your Greatness" and should have fallen dead with head to His Majesty the King's feet.

yeh coffeejee he is.

I gathered
He was in palestine during the intifada.
In Afganistan during post sept 11.
In India during the latest general election.
In the US during presidential election.
In Indonesia in the Tsunami aftermath.

Just for being a quack. Funny it is but he doesn't come back before things return to normalcy.

what i meant by the way was that the former bbc correspondents in nepal did a much better job...i am not saying a bbc correspondent has to gratify the monarch...i am not even a royalist really but one can criticise things without paying attention to such minor details..daniel lak constantly criticised the rulers of the country but in a respectable manner, i myself dint agree with him the entire time but his articles were very pertinent to the political state of the country

the bbc correspondents or any news correspondents are supposed to be there to discuss the current state of nepal and not to fill in an entire paragraph with who wore what :

"He cut a relatively svelte figure in his green ceremonial uniform, his left breast pocket a blaze of medals and ribbonry, his shrunken midriff fitting neatly within the confines of a gleaming gold-buckled belt. ".....who the hell cares about this?? criticise all you want but you re not their to discuss whose wearing what and whether the king has lost weight or not..in my opinion this is a very subjective article written by yeah an ex fashion designer who doesnt know much about nepal...

99com007a,
I do not know how to be more civilized. Teach me what then it is to be civilized, will you?
Cough up some bad words?? i'm here to listen. Unless you want to hear only good things about Nepal... I had told other foreigners a thousand time the following when I was in Nepal and had never gone out of the country (I worked as a guide in Pashupati area)
"Sagarmatha is situated in Nepal. It is the top of the world. It is extremely beautiful"
"Budha was born in Nepal" and now I'm totally tired of these facts...

I like to listen anything but it is you who does not want to. You do not have to agree with him, or with me, I remind you.

99com007a,
The whole point I was making is you cannot make fool of a professional's business. An accomplished correspondent doesn't only file hard news in a conventional method but also presents various connotations to make his story vibrant and colourful while keeping the core news value intact.
Another thing, his story is for the world audience not for particular peoples with certain interests. Reporting is a business, an art and a style. I don't know if you know much about this business. But as far as I am concerned, Nick Bryant was majestic. His audience, if they are a regular BBC audience, have got what Bryant wanted to tell from the aforementioned story.
Anyway, it is nice to know some Nepalis being so advanced these days that they can teach the messiahs of the business some basics of journalism. Hats off.
