खसोखास कुरा गर्ने हो भने, यी "नत्रवादी" र "घुर्कीवादी" हरु अब हाम्रा स्कुल कलेजका कलिला केटाकेटीहरुले शाही सेनाको गोली छातीमा थापेर गणतन्त्रवादी जनआन्दोलनलाई नथामिने मोमेन्टम दिएपछि मात्रै बहादुरीकासाथ सडकमा ओर्लिनेछन् । यो सुखद दु:खद जेसुकै भएपनि अब नभई नछाड्ने कुरा हो ।

अनि साझामा धुमधामकासाथ चलिरहेको राजाको हुकुमी शासन बेस कि राजालाई पिठ्युँमा बोकेर कुप्रन विवश जनप्रतिनिधीहरुको ङ्यारङ्यारङुरङुरतन्त्र बेस भन्ने बहस चाखलाग्दो भएपनि हिजोका दिनदेखि अब बहस सुनेर मनपरिवर्तन गर्न कोही आउला भन्ने मलाई लाग्दैन । सबैले आआफ्नो मोर्चा सम्हालिसकेका छन् (ज्ञानेन्द्र महाराजको करामत) । अब बहस बहसको लागि होईन, संघर्षको लागि हुँदैछ ।

गणतन्त्रको महान ऐतिहासिक मोर्चाका सहयोद्धाहरुलाई मेरो एउटा अनुरोध के छ भने ज्ञानेन्द्रलाई सरापनु भनदा उसले देखाएको साहस (दुस्साहस भने पनि त्यो साहसै त हो नि) बराबरकै साहस र योजनावद्धता द्वारा प्रजातन्त्रको यो बहादुर दुश्मन सित प्रजातन्त्रको अन्तिम युद्ध लडौं ।

As usual, you presented an interesting view on the dilemma of Kathmandu's intelligentia. As I had written earlier, the problem with them is claiming too much political stake without taking due risks. And the instruments they rely on to protect their interest is mainly the FUCHHE TRICK (as you have rightly called it NATRA BAAD) that includes little bits of all: CHAKARI, GHURKI, DABAB, SHADYANTRA etc. In fact, this has remained a proven trick for Kathmandu's Bhardars and PURET community since long time, and now been successfuly transfered to the so called intelectuals.

The yesterday's movement by the King has opened a chance for dialogues with Maoists, as they have had reiterated direct talks with the king.

First a disclaimer to the readers. By mentioning Kanak Mani Dixit, I was not singling him out, hai ? Was just a chance reference to his widely circulated email which is also posted in Sajha. Next, while I think the "madhyamarg" in Nepal has been terribly out of touch with unfolding realities and the course of history, I am not making a sweeping generalization of Kathmandu based intelligentia. While the mode of expression used by all look similar, that is, sounding middle, there is a good section of once dormant left becoming more and more vocal and visible. A subset of that section was recently singled out by Kamred Baburam Bhattarai on the expense of being ridiculed by our Kunsang Kaka !

The metaphor of the pet lion and circus was a reference to an argument for the constitutional Monarchy I had recently read in Sajha- selling exotic image of Nepal to the foreigners !!!

What if now maoists propose a strategic (not mere tactical) compromise with politcal parties ?

The problem of trangular power is not yet solved. With this risky step of King, it is likely that politcal parties and Maoist form an allience, not short-term tactical one but long-term strategic one: maoists truely committing to multiparty democracy and other parties republican democracy. The increasing concerns of international powers specially India (see today, Times of India editorial) over King's step might work as a RARE incentive to Maoist to enter for a credible strategic engagement with political parties by accepting democratic framework and gain international legitimacy.

Equally possible is the direct talk between King and Maoists. A possibility can not be ruled out that Palace and Maoist share power (keeping political parties out, may be leaders in the jail on curruption charge). There is a surplus politcal POWER with the King, and being a business man, he may wish to trade it for lasting peace and gaining polititcal legitimacy.

With this latest development, the political space available to centerist movement (like current 4-party struggle) is too narrow to make any change. The centerist politcal forces are now forced to choose one of the following alternatives:

1. Allience with King (seems less possible now)
2. Allience with maoist (possible but needs significant political maneuver)
3. Remain inactive and wait till Palace Vs Maoist game is over (this would also allow time for emergenece of new generation of leadership in each parties)

Political parties ally with the Maoists PROVIDED maoists give in to multiparty democracy and the parties give in [willingly !] to republic of Nepal.

What I also believe in is, Big G might have thought in a very intelligent way of what he was doing and what could be the consiqences of his recent movement. I have catagorised him as a person, Nepali ma yeuta ukhan cha ni "naak naak samma pani aauda pani basi rakhne" he has the patience and really creates the situation where he is asked to make decision rather than doing it early using his power. What ever it is, I don't see any chance of any of the political leaders and maoist going for an allience. If we look in the past history of Big G what we get to know is, Big G has a very good calculation about the people in the country and the world politics........................ He announced Paras as the crown prince on the Dashain, reason, Nepali sabai Dashain ko ramailo ma mast huncha ra sadak ma kohi pani aaudaina, he was right, people accepted it. I think he is also aware of the influence of India and world in the present politics. Most probably he has also calculated the risk involved in this move and made it because he sees profit and dominance from his side. So Netaa haru ko time chai aba gayo. They cannot flee this time, niskapksha jee le bhannu bhako jasto ki ta curroption ko charge me jail or peacefully remain in the country, being politically inactive. Aba big G ko rule samma chai its gonna be complete monarchy, paras raja bho bhane herau. Maile chai raja ko kadam lai tala diyeko bunda ko aadhar ma safal bhanna khojeko chu.
1) If no leaders flee to India, India cannot directly affect the politics and since both of the nations are WTO members, india cannot impose nakabandi. (I thought)
2) Pakistan ko politics herda, America le support nai gari raako cha, yedi chaina bhane kina pakistan lai armor haru bechthyo ? Yedi pakistan ma army le power lina sakcha bhane, Nepal ma ta Raja le liyeko, its more legible.
3) Nepali janata are irritated with the politicians and no one cares even if they at this moment. Nepali lai chahiyeko peace ho power hoina, Nepal ko thulo power "Karmachari" lai aaram le kaam garera talab paaye pugyo. NOC dubna lagyo, RNAC dubyo, aru pani dubne awastha ma cha, talab khana napako karmachari le talab paaye pachi "who cares"
4) China Nepal ko mamila ma praya sadhai saanta, ahile pani chupp.
5) UN ko astitwa naam matra ko laagi ho, its is piece of junk, completely useless.
6) Maobadi yeuta ho, tini haru bistarai barta ma aaihalchan. Na aaye " we will see" tara tini haru aauchan, raja sanga barta garchan, naak le bhui chune gari niurinchan ra "hus sarkar" bhanera farkinchan.
7) Revolutiion safal janata le garchan, janata chup "no one cares"

Aba Raja lai ahile ko awashta ma threat kosai bata pani maile dekheko chaina. It will be a very successful move and it will go on for long time I believe.
