THE BRIGHTER SIDE OF NEPRICAN LIFE Hi Guys, Last time we thoroughly discussed the darker side of Neprican life. Now lets see some of the brighter sides: 1- In America, if someone cheats you, you just inform the government. And it is the responsibility of the government to identify the culprit and deliver punishment. (Nepal ma yesto kahile hola??) 2- Everyone in America is very honest to his/her work. HOnesty towards work is THE Mantra. 3- U study one semester in one college and next semester, u will be in another college. When you complete the degree, you will have already changed 10 colleges! Kasto - Ramailo !! 4- In America, if you dont have a car, better not go to the Grocery store. 5- If you are walking on foot in a downtown street, always keep 5-10 dollars with you in cash. If the Black americans spot you, they might claim rent (ie tips). If their request is not met, you might be shot. 6- If any American meets you at the Bus stop and asks you about your plans after college, you should always reply him that you are returning to Nepal/home. If you tell him that you are staying in US, then the Amricane will make a sour face and never ask a second question. If you tell him that you are returning home for good, the Amricane's face will suddenly shine.............He might ask you more friendly questions. 7- After 20 years, China is going to overtake Amrika. US economy will decline. So some very clever - "Chankhe" Nepricans have started to learning Chinese, to make their voyage to Shanghai more culture friendly. Of course, who will stay in A capsized ship?? "And of course China is our Cloooose Neighbor to the NOrth" What a great Idea ! Chetana Bhaya...........Hulaki UNcle

.. since hulaki likes to assume : 1) When Hulaki was little he watched a lot of English videos and always wanted to go to usa. it was like his ultimate dream. 2) when Hulaki grew up. He realized that it's not as easy going to America as thinking about it. He got frustrated and after few tries and few mean faced at the counsalate with denial on his passport he went off to the country where he doen't have to apply for visa; India. 3) Hulaki studied and worked in India, but deep down he was very frustrated for not being able to go to the usa so he developed this hatred against America and life in the America.. 4) HUlaki came back to kathmandu, but he couldn't find a job.. he was pretty dissapointed because all the jobs are taken by well educated America returned people while hulaki and others have to hustle and bustle to get simple jobs. 5) Hulaki finally met his door ko relative who happens to have some hold on Nepali politics. So hulaki joined the party and started hanging out in najik ko chiya ( tea shop ) pasal.... 6) With the political source force and cuttin' on some corners he finally finds a job as a school teacher in a boarding school... 7) Hulaki is jelouse now, he sees all these people living better life in USA and he's in Nepal as a school teacher and he sees no future for himself rather than tutoring some children to earn some extra money... 8) Hulaki met a girl.. she used to be a teacher at his school.. Hulaki falls in love .. and thinks there's somethign good for him too ... 9) One day his girl calls him to meet on some chiya pasal and she lets him know that she's gettin' m arried with a guy 10 years older than him who happens to be in the usa.. and that she's also going to go to usa after the marriage.... 10) Hulaki tries to conviniece the girl, but she's not listening to him.. she even says, " it's not you ... it's me" , a classis dialouge that girls have been using to get rid of a loser like hulaki ..... 11) nothing works out in life, rent's due soon, he's frustrated, no hope for a bright future, his indian degree is not pulling any fortune for him.. he goes to chiya pasal again and hears from his stupid friends who are dying to go to USA.. he also meets some visa rejected Frustuuu budas who would get raped by a gang of gays if they would just land on the US soil.... 12) He recently meets his U.S deported old friend of his who was living in Queens for 2 years on trourist visa.. he got deported finally and is back in Nepal.. he tells his stories about sharing rooms, having no rights, and harsh life in usa... now Hulaki listens to all of them and assumes that all Nepali i n the usa are like that.. all downtown has vending machine set up by black kids to charge road tax... 13) Hulaki's girl recently sent him a post card from the USA.. she also mentoned that she's very happy and has a kid.. So Hulaki goes back to chiya pasal and is pissed.. he hears about this site in the same chiya pasal by his deported friend.. and feels obligated to come in here and say nasty things to all the Nepali living in the usa... So you see ppl, where hulaki is coming from? he lost his girl on some budha from the usa.. she thought although hulaki looks like " anil Kumar" this old dude from usa is much better cuz she can have a better life...so hulaki is just frustrated.. and he comes in here once in a while and brags about his indian , and foul mouths on all the Nepali living in the usa.. Give the poor guy a break.. he's just really lonely, furstrated and he can't help it....

Dear folks! Be cool! Learn manner, somehow hulaki said the truth part of being foreigner. I know his word is a bit bitter, I became a victim that I was robbed in downtown NYC, by a black people, was asked money. He took $43.00. Similarly, so many Nepalese people working at gas station and 7 Eleven were robbed, black people have been showing the gun and have been asking money. Yes, it is fact, we can't hide this from telling our family back home in Nepal. And, some of you could do a office-level job (everyone did laymen job at beginning) , but fact is 95% Nepalese work in restaurant gas station and store as cashiers............ and bla bla bla............... If you want to know more about asked to Pre Raj Mahat, how did a black guy shut him while working at restaurant. Moreover, go to Ocean City to know much information about summer jobs. It is only different me and Hulaki that I don't discriminate any type of job. People have to do. if Nepalese don't do, someone will do; no doubt. And, don't say that we are people from rich country, so that we only take higher level jobs in the USA. Yes, you are in USA, a democratic country, you have a golden chance to learn about the press or talk freedom as well. I noticed that all of you had used very low level language against HULAKI. let him explore what ever he feel. It is SAJA, sabaiko saja.......... learn manners, and face the truth. We shouldn't eat dhido inside and show the basmati rice to others. You get nothing, come to reality. I did work as a programmer, now the fact, I am a cashier at gas-station I like to take a risk rather than go to Nepal due to many reasons. Why do I lie, people know what's going on? If I said "I work in gas station", later on, people meet me at gas station cleaning toilet, there is no AWESOME. But, if you said that I work for some DOT COM as engineer, and later on, people find you at gas station that is ridiculous. Button line is,,,,,,,,,,,,, feel free talking instead of yelling to poor HULKI, communicate fairly......... and teach him the reality about the USA as much as you know, mention about the country situation so that you need to stay outside until you won't get Peace in Nepal....... I do want to confront if my vision hurt someone, you can contact me personally.............I don't challenge any body through the SAJA, it is coward manner. I would like to go through the reality......... OKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

He accused of Nepalis in US of cleaning toilets and bosting in Nepal saying that "I'm in US doing this and that for Nepal." Hulaki is absolutely right. Why you are not ready to clean pots in Mugling and clean toilet in Trichandra College but you are ready to do it in Hk? Do you have good answer on it? No. अनि यत्राको ट्यास् ट्यास् हो नि फेरि?

To answer to Dada Giri's question about why we at least I am not ready to clean toilets in Mugling and Tri-Chandra, well it is not necessary. In nepal, my parent's earnings is enough to pay for my college tuition, but in US it is not. Do you think I would be cleaning toilets, are will be working for a low paying jobs here in US, had my parents been rich enough to afford my educational expenses, or if I had recieved some kind of scholarship and stipend? Hell No. And in the same manner, if I had no money, my parents had no money, to help my education in Nepal, I would have surely picked up odd jobs to finance my education. It is that simple. Necessity if the mother of invention, or in this case the mother of cheap labor.

I am not stressing on, washing dishes is a job of the poor. If you are poor (have no money), and are in need of money, you've got to do whatever comes along. Well, I don't mean to suggest jobs that are morally discouraging like prostitution. It is just a simple observation. There are many nepalese in US who don't wash dishes or do not clean toilets, because for them that is not necessary; they either have other jobs, or are financially secure or have some sort of scholarship and stipend. For others who are not that lucky, they do it. So it is not like I would wash dishes and clean toilets in US and not do that in Nepal. But if I am straving, have absolutely no money, I would carry that on even in Nepal, and I would assume, others do the same, after all it is better to make some money doing low paing jobs than starve to death.

Any way, my light comment is" no one is 100% perfect", I don't care weather you like mahatma Gandhi or not, majority of people appreciate his contribution and profound his philosophy. I don't deal with an individual who hate Gandhi or whomever. let's talk about Nelson Mondela, Kofi annad, Dalai Lama, Arfat, puti, bush, clinton, Blair, and more...,yes, there are some people who dislike these figures too. think about dude, if a human has power or ability to grabs every thing accurately or perfect way, he is A GOD. Any way thank you for noticing my thread.

.. this is bullshit... first of all , even if you clean bathroom in usa , the bathrooms are differnt than the publick sounchalaya in kathmandu.. and cleaning bathroom might be ones duty as cleaning other work areas where the person is working.. for eg, if he's working in a gastation he might be obligated to clean his bathroom that he uses during the day.. i don't see what's wrong... it's amazing how so many haters joinded Hulaki so fast. they however, forget to realize that not every Nepali in the usa lives in downtown NYC.. and get robbed... it doesn't happen all the time.. gallant bro might have gotten robbed by a black person in NYC that doesn' t mean every Nepali in the USA walks around the NYC downtown area and gets robbed by a black dude.. if gallant was raped/molested or had some kinda horrible incident by a black or hispanic dude in NYC that doesn't mean every Nepali in the USa has to go though the same horrible incident.... Ocean city.. hmmmmmmmmmm it's a karma bhumi for many many Nepali students.. people work thier arse off to make money for tution.. most students are illegal... but not every Nepali in the usa are illegal and not everone goes to ocean city. Also, those who go to ocean city, party like animals, get good jobs in hotel or even 7-11 where they get paid like $11 an hour and bonuses.. it's a lot of money.. most students save up for 2 semesters... younge students buy cars and expensive stuff , even take vaccation after the summer... something Hulaki can never dream doing with Mastery job , a menal worker at a gastation can do that very easily..... Also, all the pain and torture of ocean city, Estes park, and Chicago and what not.. does not last forever.. it's until you graduate.. once you graduate you have chances of getting better jobs, hence better future... I think it is very sad how Hulaki and others generalized poor students in the usa by saying they are toilet cleaners.. they want to make those hard working folks out there look like chammayas and podays back home .. what they're doing out here is what they need to do.. most of them , including me although want to go back home but are scared of people like Hulaki who ask why did you come back? didn't you get enough opportunity in the usa? we're scared of gettin' judged by people like Hulaki.. Now the Hulaki and his gangs are on the Nepali students in the usa... hulaki.. don't compare yourself to the younge studetns going to colleges.. compare yourself to the people of your age in the usa.. look how successful they are, the company jobs they have , and the secure and better live they live on...

Postings are getting too slanderous in the name of defending and offending each other.... Hulaki posted just once and all of you getting out of control........... trying to convince Hulaki that you are leading better off life in US....... I can feel every one of you frowning at Hulaki's postings and getting tempted to react vigorously to cool down the grievances against yourself, your country, your work........... Hulaki may be right to some extent and may be wrong to the other extreme..... We all know how we feel living far away from our home and family..... we know how it feels to be away from the beloved ones and especially when you lose someone forever ...... So friends there are so many things to ponder.... no pain no gain..... we all know that we have very less opportunity back in our home....... though we love your country and love to be back ........ we have to kill those feelings because of the gruesome situation that prevails............. we expect things will get tomorrow.. but that tomorrow never comes..... May be Hulaki missed his land and people awfully and finally decided to get back home and work there and satisfy himself. May be he saw the lack of good and able people there and thought the void is because of the brain drain to the foreign land who never thinks of working for their country....... and may be Hulaki expected all of those educated heads back home so that they pitch something in for the betterment of Nepal............. I guess all of us know how Malaysia got developed ........ So lets not be so furious with Hulaki ............ lets develop the habit of self criticism too............. Don't think that I am Hulaki's supporter.............. I support all of you.......... even MM Bro......... peace out........

....i read a lot of comments about this. i would say it is all the context of situation...whatever the difference in life is it is due to society...as said its necessity that has compelled all nepalese to be like this...but i am sorry to say that there has been overemphasis on tiolet cleaning...may be some of us have done this....but not all of us...there are also nepalese that have climbed the ladder of society to better jobs thru education....i appreciate all the nepalese students' effort to uprise themselves thru education dragging thru perils...as we know people with same socioeconomic background in the us don't and haven't even thought or tried to go to college....aren;t we lucky compared to them...this is good part of the values that our culture has put upon us....saying culture i want to point out to the guys who have some very rude opinions .....some even inviting for the fight...this is what we haven't learnt from us or any other foreign countries...look the kerry bush debate before the election..how polite and morality these political rivals have...how they addressed to each other even on highly divided matters...this is what good about us...here is freedom of speech...people can express ideas and this is the battle of ideas that gives the best result to any problems...sorry but some dudes looked like punk gangsters of katmandu like apne area ke sher...so rude n impolite..i would like to thank hulaki ji to raise this issue..although hulaki ji u potratyed nepalese as opportunistic ...this is compulsion not wish..what do u say about it...what do u say about ""our ""failure to grow democracy and jobs in the country and government proudfully decided to open jobs in 85 international countries to do manual jobs..our next generation will be the slave rearing house 'where people will live until their 18 or 19 and go to other countries to do ""tiolet cleaning"". put ur heads together dudes to work out this problem especially to college students who r gonna graduate as doctors, engineers, sociologists, and many more...sorry far pessimism but dont give up ur faith guys....study hard..there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

everyone knows that what hulaki is saying is not 100% true. so if some uninformed guy wrote a bunch of garbage it means one of two things 1) he is himself uninformed or 2) he knows the truth but is trying to provoke others. if he is uninformed, then after reading this, hulaki has hopefully become informed. if he is trying to taunt us, he has succeeded to some extent. but on the bright side, i certainly got more educated reading all these posts. and i also want to say kudos to the folks who had to work hard doing menial jobs to pay for their educatoin. it helps build character and teaches you to not take everything for granted - key ingredients for future success. mero dui paisa....
