WTA seems to have something against a black woman dominating white women all over again. Serena is nothing like she was before all her injuries, but she looked to be coming back to her usual self this open. But all those calls going against her? It was just insane watching the dumb refereeing. And all those people cheering for Capriati? Tennis is still a white dominated sport and this game just goes to show how hard the authorities still want to keep it that way. Matches like these will kill the WTA.

what's up with whining??? Okay the umpire missed the call so she is paying the price. She won't get to umpire next games in open. Serena herself said she didn't play a good game to win. Give some credit to the winner Capri.....

it's not that there had never been controversial calls before, why this one making the news more??? would it have been the same if it was other players than white american players??? why does everything has to be black and white??? Sports is a sports; if you play good then you will win.... simple as that

SE, I hope you are not Richard Williams coz he whines alot like ya

:)

I won't say that one error changed the entire result of the game. Although I must admit that it must have had some affect on her for sure. But the bottom line is that if you game is so much dependent on one call then you aren't playing your best. Anyway hats off to Capriati for making it to the next round.

As far as blacks are concerned in tennis, I believe that they are capable to take over the game. Especially with Williams sisters doing so well I am sure there will be lot of blk young blk athletes who will be looking up to them.

lol i think they sent those umpires from Tennis Canada...These were the kinda calls they made here sometimes.

Although it may not have been the deciding factor in the match those calls did have an effect on her game. But i dont care, i just hope dimentieva magically improves her serve and kicks Capriati's butt.

On the men's side, I hope Federer wins...tonite's agassi/federer's gonna be sick.
