I am running server 2003 and xp in my vmwae workstation. I can ping my server from client but cant ping my client from the server.

The second problem is, my cd drive is missing from my vmware.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Here are few steps

1. First make sure to install vmware tools on your client Operating System.  Open the vmware and VM>install vmware tools.

2. If networking client is not pinging from server host machine change your network connection on client os. eg. if you have Bridge connection change it to Nat and restart the the Client Os.

3. Make sure to select auto detect option for you Cd drive

Hope this helps.
