Mine was is pending for 4 months. According to my lawer in the past clear case was approved within three months but now a days clear case can take as long as 8 to 10 months. And if your case is audited then its better to quit that job and apply through another company coz processing period for audited case is around two years.

Guru,

If you have already filed for I-485 from your current company, you have to wait for 180 days from the receipt date to change your job. However, the next job must be of same category as the previous one. You cannot work as a mechanical engineer in your first job and civil engineer in the second, also, the pay should also be paralleled.

If your I-140 has been approved and its been more than 180 days since your I-485 has been filed, you may change the employer.  But your employer has right to revoke your I-140 at anytime, since you would be consider as a permanent employee for them.  It all depends how helpful your employeer is. You  may see lots of stories of  I-485 denial cases in different immigration forums.  I am not a lawyer though, please don't consider this as a legal advice.

Good-luck
