 F-1 student start own business

hi, i am a f-1 student here in USA

and i want to start a small business here.

can i apply for a business license?

is it OK if i do so.

plz suggest me guys !!!

I do not think you can start a business IN YOUR OWN NAME. However, you can invest in the share market (that too you have to take permission). If there is a green card holder or a US citizen, you can invest in his or her name and share the benefits.r

Yes-- you can start business but you can not get salary until you are authorized to work in USA.

what abt profit ,can i make profit?

how can i prove that i am not getting salary from that buisiness.

I do not know how database got this information although it would be nicer if it could be true. running a business means earning profit too whether you employ other people or work by yourself. As far as I know, an F-1 can not work outside of the university unless he/she is in practical or some other training. To run a business, you need to get authorization and an F-1 can not possibly run a business and get the earning/benefits from his/her own business. Are there some people who are well-versed in this, by the way?

You can have profit..Why should you run business if you are neither take profit nor be employed as salaried employee.

well , i have seen so many f-1 students working in cheque using their SSN and after they graduate they are getting H1 .

so, i mean to say how can they work in cheque, if we are not supposed to work outside.

plz any expert advice on this.
