If one becomes a celebrity in Nepal, does that mean s/he is trapped in that environment for life?  When an actor or singer becomes famous, it is up to him or her how that fame is used.  So if that person chooses to move to another country, how is that wrong?  Kasari tyo Nepal-lai thageko huna gayo?

Further more, what is this about "bidesh ma gayera moj garney" crap?  As it was made evident by the originating poster, these Nepali celebrities are working hard to make their ends meet here in the US.  Unlike in corrupt culture of Kathmandu, here in the US, people actually look favorably to honest work, no matter what the job entails. 

And even if they are "bidesh-ma gayera moj garey", what is it to you?  After all, they are doing so with their own money.

How many Nepalis who come to the US say that they will not return?  Except for those who come with immigrant visa such as DV, family alocated and Green Card, every body says to the consular that s/he will return back to Nepal.  Of course, people have the right to change their minds.  Once the student with F1 visa gets a job with H1 visa, s/he might change her mind to settle in the US by acquiring the Green Card.  How is that different for "kalaakaars"?

I think there is a double standard/ flaw with the US Immigration system. The artists can apply for SSN as soon as they land in the US. If they can prove themselves of being artists of certain calibre, the US gov provides them with the Premanent Resident status, probably quicker than EB1 or EB2. So it is not their fault but the system of the US Gov. They, in the Embassy while issuing visa, want to confirm if they are coming back to Nepal and once they are here, the laws are in favor of the immigrants.

The originator of this thread, as I'm reading, didn't say anything wrong or anything bad about those celebrity. What's wrong with that? They were once a public figure, with that comes the exposure.While I understand most of the people here saying "It's their life, none of your business", all he is asking is some "transparency" to see what our x-celebrity are doing. Most of the people who are against the originator need to realise that this might be a better thing, to be called on and be exposed(good or bad), which our culture desperately neeeds --tranparency-in politics and business. What Girija Prashad, Govinda Raj,Gyanendra does is his own business, none of yours. I bet they would say the same.

I guess it's our heritage to hide (it's celebrity in this case, which literally means PUBLIC), and curse people when you're being exposed even if it means no harm and is all true.

It's a double standard that these same people say that there's no class which job you do in America. But then you get offended when some post "saroj khanal-burger king". Isn't it stupid?

What you doing in USA, if you visited USA as a tourist, how long you have been there?. If you went to USA as  a student, did you return to Nepal after your practical training? Rather you changed that to work visa and then to green card or trying to convert to green card.
