Thanks man. I heard about her recently and I though she must also be like other Nepali people...even if it is all lies, they will say "I am first so and so"...but If you know her and she is lawyer then she must really be first ever female nepali lawyer in America!...that's a great accomplishment!
....damn...Nepali people also doing very good in America....gives me hope :-)
She is good friend of my friend. As a women what i like to say here is that this is really a big accomplish for nepali women. She can be inspiration for generation to follow. I wish her luck for the future.
there is another nepali female lawer in IOWA, dont know her name to mention here. she has been there for more than 10 yrs. it was my quick meeting with her during a nepali party. if the one at seattle has 10+ yrs service in US, she is the first one
Ha ha ha Ma pahila ki ta pahila !!! Khoiii baaaa Does it even matter ? If anyone know about any female Nepali who fated in public before yesterday let us know tooo.. ha ha ha
Bathroom! I am with you on this one (even if it may be the first time LOL!)
But yeah it is not a big deal considering so many law degree granting institutions in the country. Of course, she has to pass the Bar exam and has to meet yada, yada yada requirements. Is it hard to be a lawyer? Hell yeah! but it's going to be a common occurance in the years to come.
It will be pretty out of the ordinary if a nepali makes it to NASA space mission, Apprentice (w/ Trump), Hollywood starship, Nobel prize nomination (except for Peace, as this category is so rampant too) etc.
A person like Kiran Chetry successfully anchoring a premier news channel is something of a Wow! and (personally I see as ) a pride to Nepalis though she is a Neprican (Nepali+American) with attractive features. That Gurung dude, yeah! Prabal working with designer Mark Jacobs is pretty uncommon considering that most Nepalese come to USA get a degree in Computer related major, get H1, drive a japanese car, wear a leather jacket, shave the head etc. Nepalese are doing great here for the most part but we could explore more frontiers when it comes to career choices. Please comment but with a reasoning.
May God bless Nepal and Nepalese (I hope the agnostics won't mind this sentence). ;p
Breaking News--BathroomCoffee is the New Fart Champion!
from our correspondent
1st April '07: BathroomCoffee becomes the first ever Nepali to win the International Fart Contest held in the U.S. Senate office, Capitol Hill, Washington D.C., USA. There were altogether 167 contestants from several different countries participating in the prestigious contest. BathroomCoffee, originally from Nepal, who participated for the first time in the competiiton, knocked out the last year's winner- Mr. Fart in the last round by a huge margin of 135 db (db stands for decibel -- unit for measuring sound).
The whole Senate office building echoed with a reverberating sound that lasted for more than 10 minutes producing a 1067 db impact when BathroomCoffee farted in the last round. Apparently, the sound was also audible in the White House premises and President Bush had to order Ms. Condolezza Rice to get ready for the possible attack from Iran."I can do better than this!", says the new champion.
Loote bro! I agree with 99.99% of the things you write here but don't you think we should let nature or supply/demand or evolution or something like those determine the demise of each thread instead of somebody jumping in and declaring that "Ok, this is the end of the thread, no more posting!"?
well.. so are you guys listing the firsts for every profession? Because I don't see what's so great about being the first female lawyer.. I just say it's about time!!
