some teenagers may smoke to give false impression to girls or whoever but in most of the cases, i believe, it's due to addiction that comes up with carelessness and weak approach towards life. IMPO, addiction is a lethal combination of chronic psychological and physical disease. when one gets addicted, it becomes really hard to set them free unless they develop a STRONG conviction against the addiction. such convictions does not come overnight, one has to go through a real rough patch in life and come out of it to develop it. if you scrutinize on minor things around, there are so many that one can get addicted to. people and places can also be big-time addictions, let alone cigarette or alcohol. sajha itself is an addiction. addictions are everywhere. i am addicted to the smell of my armpit these days:P. since i wear sleeveless t-shirts at home, it helps me and i sniff it in regular intervals....hahahahaha :P LooTe

I learned to smoke... well not really learned, I was forced by a bully cousin to smoke. He got this habit from somewhere and wanted to make sure he is not alone. So he forced some five of his cousins under his rein to test smoke. I was one of the victims. "Asha" churot was our major brand. But we smoked "Ganesh Bidi" too depending on the situation of supply. I do remember buying "Yak" and smoking to impress a girl I was crazy about. So, in my case, it was not the plain smoking but the class of cigarette that I used for the purpose of impressing. Although it did not work, there was no reason for me to quit smoking. There was a particular occasion I was terribly disgusted with smoking and actually quit smoking for several weeks. It was a Health Exhibition we went to from our school. Among the things exhibited was a specimen of a lung from a man died of cancer. It was a horrible thing to see for me. I could not bring myself to smoke, well, until the image of that sick lung faded away. I have been a light smoker throughout my smoking life, smoking 3-5 cigarettes a day. So I did not view my habit as terribly harmful. Nevertheless, I experimented, like every smoker does, with quitting on my own several times without success. I did not take these failures seriously. I mean they really did not erode my confidence and faith in my own will power. There were many other things I did in my life to prove my will power to myself. So it was safe. I just regarded my failure to quit smoking as lack of my seriousness to quit. Whether I made myself to believe so or was really the case might be a matter for psychologists to resolve. That said, I quit smoking about a decade ago pretty easily and in an innovative way. I keep joking that I should be patenting my method. Since it's of a patenting value, I am not going to reveal it here. I will only say that the method works like a charm and is really full-proof to those who have certain ingredient required. And almost everybody has this ingredient. So I think it should work for almost everybody. Let me give you a hint. It involves what would amount to emotional manipulation of yourself. It's pretty easy and harmless. In fact you will feel your emotional empowerment and moral boost in every stage of the application of this method. Interested ? Only serious bidders please. Nepe

Puspakamakthapa-jee, There is something called aesthetics. *** *** *** *** *** bikash kc-jee, Thank you for your interest and best wishes. यो मिलियनपति बन्ने कुरा आयो कि मलाई कस्तो कस्तो लाग्छ । तर धन्यवाद है । If there is sufficient interest, I sure would like to share it for free for a greater good. I am only hesitant to write it just like that for fear of losing efficacy of the method. Because it involves "emotional value" of certain thing and that is more likely to remain intact in a discreet dealing than in something picked up from a free for all public domain. Can't say more than this for now. Hehehe. Nepe

It never helps to smoke. If you think its smart to smoke, think again. Smoking shortens life on average at 7 minutes per cigratte here in sajha.com, with your family, or anywhere else.. ..I'm sure that wasn't new .... I smoked cigrattes a while ago.. It's hard to quit but it's not impossible. It will be a while before you'll get used to live without smoking... Kick that addiction out of your life ..

Do u think that guys who smoke are never kissed or they don't have gf?? Do u think only guys smoke and girls don't?? My grandma use to smoke but my grand dad never smoke, my dad used to smoke but my mom never. Good news my dad has stopped smoking. It has been more than a year. people try different things for refreshment and cigarette is one medium for refrshment. It has nothing to do with looking smart in my view. More elderly women in Nepal smoke. I have seen a lot of elderly people getting out of building just to smoke even in snowy weatherin US.

lol....... what is chamatkaar Bikashji? I just pointed out dat girls do smoke too. Further it is not always bad. For some Cigarette is a friend who never let one alone whether it be a joyful morning or a sad evening. People find creative inspirational companionship in cigarette. Laxmi Prasad Devkota is an example from Nepal. No need to put more names I guess.

Read a while ago about Mark Twain on the subject of smoking. He says, "Giving up smoking is easy - I've done it dozens of times!"...Unfortunately, I fall under the same category! Everytime I think I've gotten rid of the habit, my will power succumbs to the forces of evil...Tried cold turkey, worked for a month; tried the patch, made me nauseatingly sick the very next day; chewed nicorette, not much difference from a regular gum (but twenty times as expensive). Nothing's worked so far...I've now decided that I will continue smoking but will try and limit the cigarettes. So far, it's been working well as I'm only smoking on the wkends. Will slowly try and go cold turkey again...Am hoping it works this time around.
