साझाले गरिखाने समय जति खाईदियो । साहूले कामको थुप्रो लगाईदियो । लौ, कोही साथीहरु ले केही उपाय भए बताईदिनुस ।पक्कै पनि साझामा सहयोगी र सहृदयी विद्वानहरुको कुनै कमी छैन ।

I desperately need license-free फोकटमा पाईने र बनिबनाउ algorithms for generating random numbers on statistical distributions for a Monte-Carlo simulation- most preferably in Visual Basic (or VBA). MS-Excel मै ठोक्ने बिचार छ, सम्भव भए सम्म ।
नभई नभएका distributions: Gauss-normal (of course), lognormal, beta, gamma
however, the more the better.

GNU scientific library (GSL) हो भने पर्दैन प्लीज, जम्मै pointer नै pointer रहेछ, एक थोपो पनि source code बुझ्या भे त मरिजाम ।

अर्को त्यो error function को table नै चाहिने पनि भरसक नभए हुन्थ्यो, केही सीप नलागे त्यसैले पनि काम चलाउन पर्ला ।

MATLAB ले नि नहुने, MathCAD ले नि नहुने भन्छ साहूले, साहूले ती software को कुरा बुझ्दैन, मैले साहूलाई छोड्ने बेला भयो, बनाईदिएर जान पर्ने ।

Excel कै simulation packages ले पनि गाह्रै हुने, बिचार गरिसकेको - झन घाँडो हुँदोरहेछ । मेरो function नै फेरि newton raphson लगाएर solve गर्न पर्ने non-linear equation छ के,त्यसो भएर ।

significant probabilites are : p(x1), p(x2), p(x3) and p(y3)

for deterministic vals,
y1 = f1(x) .....(1)
y2 = f2(x) .....(2)

for non-linear eqn #1>> y1 comes from simulation (randomly generated भनौँ न) solve by newton-raphson for the value of x : the best value is, say x1. the distributin of x1 is p(x1).

for non-linear eqn #>> y2 comes from simulation (but with a different distro, suppose if the earlier is normal, this one might be lognormal). solve it for value of x2. the distributin of x2 is p(x2).

then, my final eqn is,
y3 = f3(x1,x2,x3) - which does not require solving tho: straight computation. but again, x3 comes from simulation- likely with a different shape p(x3)

I used @risk (TM) software (Excel application software) to generate all sorts of distribution for my use but it was not a freeware, and more than that it needed a dongle key.

कुरो के भने 10 yrs जतिको झन्डै साठी लाख देखि पाँच करोड वटा जति observed data points छन् हेरि हेरि - input variables को पनि, अनि final result को पनि । अहिलेसम्म data लिँदै र assimilate गर्दैमा मा ठिक्क । माथि देख्नु भयो होला, एउटा process को लागि अनि हामीले differential equation को रुपमा फिट हुन्छ कि, कुनै relation/formula निस्की हाल्छ कि भनेर जाँच्न खोजेको । intermediate relations पनि empirical खाले के, तेही भएर newton-raphson ले गोद्न पर्ने, अनि differential eqn लाई solve गर्न पर्ने ।

अनि तेत्रो data points त एउटै चोटि त कसरी process गर्ने हो र, धेरै data गर्दैमा फेरि को ठूलो भाको छ र ? अब खास true observation बाट आएको data त कहिले ideal distribution सँग मिलेको थियो र? अनि statistics लिएर एक-एक वटा distributions मा हाल्दै हेर्ने, मिले ठूलो मान्छे भईयो, नमिले पनि ठूलै मान्छे भईयो । तेस्तो तेस्तो के ;) जे होस्, अब बाटो सोझियो, फेरि पनि धन्यबाद छ है ।

my major is in civil engineering and it is related to surrogate-type modeling for the effect of ice regime on arctic structures based on >10 yrs of observed data. fortunately, looks like the suggestion by rajesh hamal is working well. earlier i had tried to use the GNU math library but i never understood the C-pointers- anyway, its going good for now.
