- http://www.newslinenepal.com/index2.php?option=newsdetail§ion=&sno=498 NC President Likely to Meet Maoist Leaders in New Delhi By Suresh Chandra Pokhrel, KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala is to leave Thursday for New Delhi, where he is expected to meet with top Maoist leaders currently said to be awaiting him in the Indian capital. Koirala is being accompanied by his nephew Dr Shekhar Koirala, a newly elected Central Working Committee member of the party. Koirala's personal assistant Balkrishna Dahal and personal security officer Mahendra Marasini are also visiting with him. Party and Koirala's family sources, however, said the Congress President was going purely for a thorough, regular health check-up at the Indian Institute of Medical Science. "Koirala's meetings with any Indian political leaders have not been set as of yet," Dr Shekhar Koirala told Newslinenepal. "Health check-up is the first priority. If doctors allow, then the party president might be seeing Indian government representatives and top political leaders." Koirala is expected to stay for up to 10 days in India. Party sources indicated the Congress President could meet with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal Madhav Kumar Nepal, in India since over two weeks and also awaiting Koirala. The UML General Secretary is said to have had a meeting with Maoist supremo Prachanda, idealogue Dr Baburam Bhattrai and spokesman Krishna Bahadur Mahara in New Delhi on Monday. Koirala and Nepal have been authorised by the agitating seven parties to start dialogue with the Maoists. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note that Prachanda, Baburam and Krishna Bahadur Mahar are all in Delhi waiting for GPK along with Makune...

Now is there anyone to doubt India?s integrity? While US puts Nepalese Maoists in the terrorist list, India hosts them. And yet for every attack in India, India has held Pakistan responsible claiming that Pakistan harbors terrorists. And the sad reality is, while India plays and designs Nepal?s politics, there won?t be anyone to rescue Nepal but its very own people. It won?t be too long before Nepal as an independent country disappears from the Map.

iZen, Ke garne. I am frustrated like hell to see Nepal go no where. Everyone has their own interest in mind - selfish bastards. I am looking for a patriotic, honest leader who has vision to take Nepal to the next level. I am desperate to find such a leader, so why not start from Sajha? No I have not seen leadership in Sajha that I am looking for, even in Sajha people who participate have their own interest in mind or lack leadership skills :-( Shiv

Politics is all about compromises SHIV.To find a leader who will shift Nepal to a different level is absolutely impossible.Politics directly influenced by Laloo-tactics of Bihari raj? What more would you expect?Politics of ideals are crushed recklessly by the establishments.Once there was an article on some well known mainstream news magazine with a title that said leaders and revolutionaries of last century.Guess who made top on the list the guy who was alone infront of those mighty tanks rolling on Tianman square during the 1990 movement against the autocratic communist regime of china. The article said something like this.More than anything else leadership is courage which ordinary human beings can look upto and be inspired ultimately cultivating that courage of selfless in them.It is not about personality it is about examples they leave behind like all the martyrs who willingly died for what they believed in.But we have been confused about leadership itself we look for person in general and if he happens to be a head of some political party much better. Leadership is responsibility and courage not the glamor. But we are doomed all the time because we think its a glamor. And we are always delivered wrong examples:).mah two cent.

As here is the discussion of leadership, I will add on some points to it. 1. A good Leader streamlines the skills its people have to achive the common goal. (excertion from mgmt classes) 2.A good Leader does not involve him/her in micro mangement. Thats the work of low level mangement. In Nepal, there is a trend of micro management. So, talent and skills of the skilled work force could not be leveraged as per need to achive the goal. There is no leader in Nepal. There should be people who are willing to follow and achieve the goal for the leader. The leader's goal is very naive and there is no honest followers. peace out

Izen, Is there anything aside of politics that needs not be compromised in life? Having said that there are certain things that CANNOT be compromised in a leadership like vision, integrity, honesty and the ability to lead. In my opinion these are the basic qualities of a leadership. Any effort does not go in vain, like the guy that stood in front of Tianman square, he got killed but we still remember him. No one can say that the uprising and the massacre had no effect in the current Chinese policy, however minute it may be. The people that get into politics thinking about glamour are in the wrong business. I care less about the political parties and its leadership, they are useless thugs. I am searching for hope; I need hope for Nepal, someone that can lead, someone that I can follow, someone that I can stand with and be proud to be standing together with, I am in a quest and I will not rest until I find it and that day will come, I know I am dreaming but that day will come.. I have a dream ..

SHIV your insomnia is obvious but so is your dream.Never give up on your dreams.Politics in itself is a polluted profession.Few politicians have lived their ideals in the past and died with it.Lotus can grow and does grow on filthy pond.Does it ever lose its appeal to the world?NO.In the same manner good humans can emerge from the world of politics. You are familiar with few names I am sure. They have set examples.their life not their words are their message. Like you I too am impatient to see that light at the end of the tunnel. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel?I think there always is. What worries me more is whether it is going to get darker than this?

iZen, I have to admit I do not have insomnia, I sleep like a pig. Since I sleep well I am blessed with dreams, lots of 'em and I also see the light at the end of the tunnel may be it is a train coming in the reverse direction but still it is a light who can deny that ;-). Politics like anything else in life is not clean, what can be considered "clean" I wonder at times. It depends on how the game is played may be it the game of politics, business or relationship. I know what you mean we will have to wait for the leader like the names that have decorated the pages of history but I am afraid this wait might be quite long so I am desperate, desperate to see the change, desperate to see Nepal in peace, desperate to see Nepal out of crisis..

What to talk about INDIA? This country is the worst country of Asia. For example, India publishes often news about the capture of Maoists netas in Darjeeling, Bihar, or Bengal. But at the same time why would not India arrest Baburame and Prachande when they visit Delhi. Instaed they arrange the meeting place for these Maoists supreme leaders and the nepalese parties' leaders. These two events, arresting bhara bhure netas of Maoists and at the same time hosting Supreme Maosits' leaders at Delhi Darbar, clearly show that INDIA DOES NOT HAVE INTEGRITY... and I am still wondering what the F*** USA watching all these nonsense. And knowing all this, look at our so called party leaders always massaging balls of indian leaders!!!! Thukka saale neta haru.
