I think Dr. Baburam Bhattarai is the only hope of Nepal. I am very optimistic with this guy with the way he managed to bring the change in the ideology of Maoist recently. His recent interview in the Washing Post is so realistic analysis of social and political situation of Nepal in the context of present international situation. Nepal is very hopeful with you Baburam, I hope you will be able to use your intellectuality and understanding of the world politics and history to bring a positive change in Nepalese Society. Real well-wisher of Nepal will be with you and watching you. - http://www.wpherald.com/storyview.php?StoryID=20050730-054637-1381r

IF THE MAOIST ARE GENUINELY COMMITTED TO DEMOCRATIC NORMS, THEN THE FIRST THING THEY SHOULD DO IS: 1- STOP THE PRACTICE OF LIFE LONG CHAIRMANSHIP: THIS IS STALINISM PURE AND SIMPLE. 2- STOP THE PRACTICE OF BYAKTI PUJA, IE PERSONALITY CULT. bY THE WAY, THIS EQUALLY APPLIES TO MAKUNE AND GP. HULAKI.

Turbulence bro, Baburam was a good scholar and I am sure he still is, but that doesn't nevessarily mean that he is a good politician and a leader. Now, don't get me wrong here. 99% of Nepal's so called "Netas" are corrupted, don't have any education, have been convicted of some sorts of crimes, and not to mention, stupid. There is a so called "ray of hope" of us Nepalis. And frankly, I would love to return to Nepal and do something there IF the situation wasn't f*&ked up like this. But be serious, there is no "ray of hope" with communism. Their motto is to kill people if you don't agree with them. Look at all the communist countries (except North Korea and Cuba), they are all changing. They realized that a nation cannot progress with communism. Maoists hate every countries. How can you survive without doing business with other countries? If Maoists take over Nepal, it will end up being like N. Korea and Cuba. just a thought.....

Forgot one thing, A friend of mine's father is a head of Nike's Operation for Asia. I, once, asked him why Nike is not opening a factory in Nepal like they are doing in other South Asian countries. He said that our government is not stable and that Nike would not spend millions of dollars in Nepal if they are not sure that their investment won't go away. Now imagine, if they are saying this right now, what will they say if we had a commie government????? Ever thought about that????????????????????????????????????????
