OK, Just to answer your question from another thread: 1) I have been a silent reader of your Manju stories. I find them entertaining and well-written. As a reader, I can say that you show much promise in writing fiction professionally in Nepali. Keep up the good work. 2) Of course, when you start making public observations in NON-FICTION threads, your use of evidence and proofs leaves much to be desired. But then again, hopefully, debating back and forth -- and without taking things personally -- we can all learn from one another. 3) You should seriously sumbit your Nepali pieces to Madhu Parka, Garima and other literary magazines in Nepal, and start actively soliciting feedbacks from those who are good editors in Nepali bhasa. Best wishes, oohi ashu

>>You should seriously sumbit your Nepali pieces to Madhu Parka, Garima and other >>literary magazines in Nepa Been there, done that. First few years, its so cool, you can brag with your frens. Some name recognition after that its a big hole. You know how shitty they pay? madhuparka, Garima used to pay 200 Rs. a story. Royal nepal Academy used to pay 300 a story. If you need pocket money for momo its OK.

houston, it is not always money. You know how much great mathematicians such as Hardy, Ramanujan, Nash, Euler, Landau, Riemann used to get paid? In fact, Faraday left his job as an reknowned expert in trials although he was apparently reaping one of the highest amounts in UK as a scientific expert in trials. Sometimes you do things because you want to realise your full potential, and leave some kind of legacy the way you want to. So, ok, If it is money you are after, don't write for Madhupark/Garima/or whatever magazines are out there. But if it is something else, you must write, let readers evaluate you. Now, it is true that cronyism is big time a trend out there, still there is always a room for the most creative/dedicated people everywhere, and I wish you goodluck.

I agree with KankaiRiver 100 per cent when s/he says, "Sometimes you do things because you want to realise your full potential." If you write for fame and/or money or to achieve some other EXTERNAL medals, chances are you will NOT get any. Ever. But If you write for your ownself because you really, really enjoy writing, and enjoy everything that's associated with the writing process, THEN fame and money may eventually follow you. No great writer has ever said, "I do it for money or fame." But most have said, "I can't imagine doing anything else." oohi ashu

Aasu, Again "I agree before I disagree and agree and disagree". Some times I think you are theeee MAO of the maoist party. Is there anything in the world that you agree before you agree and agree only?

Bond --007 Here are two quotes for you: "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." writer F. Scott Fitzgerald AND "A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject." politician Winston Churchill Best wishes, oohi ashu

What a thread man, could not resist hoping in lame literally (just back playing soccer against the Japs team in a city expecting battering by a huge Thyphoon approaching it). (MMMG): Haven,t read the thread, will definitely go now as its praise outpours. An apology to those hurt for my bit rude remarks in the last thread. The thread that was dividing our common concern i.e goodness and only goodness for our motherland, (now if it does not fit same for everyone in Sajhaland, the country in question is our lovely small paradise "Nepal" (you may say; it was but for me it still is and we will turn it back). We all agree we have conserns for her so we take all the time and efforts to discuss here on her topic of present and future. Yes, we have our own views and we are right to disagree what others agree, atleast that is how evolution wants it to be. If only the Queen in the picture was Manju and Shiva dai begging his maf. I am sorry, I am just imagining your play being stagged by the old horse of Nepali cinema. Ashu thanks for the qoutations, they hold true for ever. There was this saying by someone?, (sorry man): "Mind and pharacutes are identical, they work best when opened". Offs, Sorry, will continue later.... by timer beeped time to check the experiments.. )sorry for the typos)

It's rather amusing to read thoughts of ppl. who have this very wrong notion that they are simply superior than the rest of the herd! On the outside this aspect is vaugley showed but the writing on the wall cannot be mistaken. Agreed, some ppl. are very good with words and articles that you read at times are second to none. But come on ppl. enlighten me. Plz. stop being so opinated. Anyways plz. carry on....i really love to read these threads and the writeups. I think no one can deny me that right and also coz i cannot argue or put forward my views does not mean that i can't expresess my personal thoughts whosoever they might be. Looking forward. Cheers.
