So what kinda community college hotel management school you went to? Do you know in Europe, people eat and smoke at the same time. So let him be for whatever he is trying to do. While many manners considered fine in one culture may be rude in another, we surely cannot base that as an excuse during the times when our judgement is required for an appropriate action or manner relative to a situation. While the nepali celebrity in the picture clearly doesn't know how to hold a knife and a fork in his hands or how to use it which is understandable since we eat with our hands in our culture, smoking however, while eating is clearly not a good mix. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out. And I don't think Moneyminded in anyway is trying to mean that one should be westernized and copy everything from the western culture, like some of you have suggested. While I do not advise anyone to copy everything from another culture, I think it is at least wise to copy what is right and meaningful from another culture and drop those that make no sense from our own. Otherwise we'll forever be "Kuwa Ko Bhagwuata."

As an example let me tell you my experience. I knew a guy from India who once did a pretty big engineeering project for US Air Force. The US Air force people were very pleased and invited him for lunch which he declined. I asked him why he had declined such an honorable invitation, for which he replied, "Well if I go for that Lunch, I would have to eat with fork and knife, and I don't know how to use them." He has been here for more than 2 years.

Haahhahah, it would be stupid to know that we are fighting against a manipulated picture. I was wondering how you could really eat with a cigarrette in your mouth. I am sure Nabin is not that stupid to try to eat with a cig in his mouth. He sounds to be more intelligent than that. So guys let's just say the photo was indeed manipulated!!!! ahahahhah

So what happened to the cigerrette once he brought food to his mouth with the fork?

There are two schools of thought regarding this matter:
The first school thinks that when he brought the food up with his right hand, he put the knife down with his left hand and use that hand to take the ciggerette away from his lips.

The other school thinks that he was able to put the food in his mouth without taking out the ciggerett from his lips. He uses his mouth to sing so he must have a talented lips.

However, verifiable sources tell me that ciggerette was "phantom ciggerette" and that he chewed it all up before he took the food to his mouth with the fork.

it's not a matter of manners what's going on in here.. yes you should not act uncivilized infront of others that will cause them inconvinience, but you should not be afraid to be what you are either...
an example.. a dude who's new to this country told me yesterday that i was being uncivilized cuz i was eating hot wings with out using fork and a knife.. i was like what the heck..... so don't be quick on judging what is civilized and what is not....
Also, i think it is extermly uncivilized to put someone's photo on sajha and then make nasty comment on how he should 've eaten or done things to look civilized...
