Hello Sajha mitraharu, I am planning to travel to Nepal with passport which has less than 6 months expiration date on it. I am looking at tickets with transit to Nepal through India of about 4 hours. Just wanted to learn from the similar experiences if I can board plane with 5 months date of expiry passport from the date of travel. Planning to take Air India flight to New Delhi with 5 hour transit onto Nepal. Anyone with similar experience, could you please share if any issue happened during boarding process. Dhanyabaad, taaremam bhai

Do you have a Nepali passport or a US Passport? I wouldn't suggest taking the risk if you have a US passport; they will return you back from the airport in most instances. If you have a Nepali passport, you can travel; if they ask you, you can tell them that you will renew the passport while in Nepal.

Thank you Fakir, this is for Nepali Passport. I also checked with Air india to learn if boarding the flight might be a problem they mentioned they'd require 6 months validity of passport. Also I did not received a firm or concrete answer to their rule with passport expiry. Another carrier Emirates confirmed no issue even with 5 months validity of passport so I am thinking of boarding Emirates for this upcoming travel.

...also if I were you, I wouldn't travel on Air India; their service simply sucks and when they see a Nepali passport, they give you extra hassles!
