"What's your greatest weakness?"
"I am very open and honest about my thoughts."
"I don't really think that's a weakness..."
"I don't give a fuck what you think!!"

In all seriousness, there is no single answer to this question. If there were, everybody would use it and then it wouldn't be as effective. The best way to approach this is to bring up a genuine shortcoming and tell them how you have overcome it. Make it about how you solve a problem, rather than what your problem is. For example, say you are not a morning person. Don't say, "I am not a morning person, I can sleep till noon if I am allowed to do so." Say," I am challenged with waking up early in the morning. But I have worked towards fixing this issue, I now make it a point to wake up early even on weekends and I go running early in the morning. The sense of pride I get out of conquering this issue of mine makes me feel better even though that weakness persists."

MonkeyYou,
Tell them this is your greatest weakest. "You always ask other people for help because you are not capable of exploring yourself." This is your slam-dunk answer.

IMO, there is no "best" or "worst" answer to this question. The interviewer knows no one is "perfect". When I faced the question, I told truthfully "I am not 100%. If I have to answer, I don't have that many weaknesses. However, if you really want to know my weaknesses please talk to my wife, she has a long list of my weaknesses!". The person interviewing me started to laugh- and I pulled out my phone and asked her "should I call my wife?" The weird thing after the interview was that I got the job!!

Hussain_khan, I might not hire you based on that answer, unless everything else is steller.

Public, I like your approach.

An HR lady explicitly told me that all they are looking for a "modicum of humility", and the best approach is to be honest, as in every other situation. I think the idea is to have some to work with who doesn't act like a know it all, and constantly flaunts his expertise making other people gag every time they see this new aHole. As an example, If you are applying to be a developer you can tell them that you still have not mastered skripting, i.e. javaskript, as much as you would like to, and that is a weakness you seek to improve on. You could then go on a tangent, tell them that you are looking to improve on it with some online classes.

"I couldn't tell you. When I notice a weakness in myself, I work to negate that and turn it into an opportunity to grow. Right now, I'm between weaknesses." Source: Internet

## Good Luck

इन्टरनेटमा ताल तालका जवाफ देखिन्छन तर "I don't think I have any weakness relevant to this position" भनेर प्यानल मा भएका सबैको आँखामा सिधा पालै पालो हेर्ने गरको छु. 'एक्ट लाइक अ डिक' भयो होला तर जागीर पाइयो दुइ पटक यहि जवाफ दिए पनि

I don't know which industry you work on, but if you are purely technical industry no one is going to give shi* what u answer on this question. Unless HR screens you in the beginning itself . I may have taken like 100 interviews by now, I don't even ask these generic questions any more now a days.

Interviewer don't give a f**k about what you answer. Interview is all about figuring your vibe (subtle energies) that you radiate. It is an automatic subliminal process. If your energies aligns or is more powerful than theirs, they will tend positive toward hiring you. They just called you for an interview just to see if they like you or not (This is an automatic subconscious process). That is it.

Look at the job deskription or role requirement. Select one that you are not comfortable with or comparably weaker than the rest of the requirements. That is what your weakness is relevant to the position you are applying for. After pointing your weakness, make sure what you are doing to be better at it and what are the plans ahead for the same. If it is related to tool, find its similarities with something you are better at , pointing the similarities, showing them you can learn it pretty quickly.

You can tell my greatest weakness is I can't say no. Scenario- There have been times where I was assigned to the task and my colleague came for help when I had the task due on the same day. So, I started helping my colleague and since my colleague was new on the project had many questions. I ended up spending a couple of hours answering the query of my newly hired colleague. This did affect me as I had the assigned task due on the same day and had to stay extra to finish my task. It is hard to say no right away even though I am middle of something.

I hope this helps, there is no right or wrong answer for the behavioral question. Please keep in mind that you need to show that you had weakness but you have done something to overcome the weakness. Weakness shouldn't really be your weakness and should tie to your strength or something good.

Good Luck for your interview.
