US $1= NRS 108, one imaginary person in the US and if he sends money to Nepal, the family is happy for an instant.
These are those people who work their ass off in the foreign land to make their family survive the sky high expensive country of ours. There are millions more directly tortured by the prices of livelihood in the country. Family's savings are going to be toughly squeezed due to this highly uneven currency differences in Nepal. Have we been efficient enough to garner economic stability in the past few decades? The answer is obviously a big "NOOO".
Any decent country is run with the implementation of National projects to gain more profits for the nation first, which directly sheds the countrymen. When this thing goes wrong and the economic targets become unclear, we are hounded to starve, fight and subsequently drop towards a failed nation. We have been lied and tortured even for the basic necessity to run our lives in the past nor has there been any alternative, yet. Our national economy doesn't seem like booming. Our countrymen are speeding to other countries to feed families. I remember a quote from Mrs Deuba long time ago, "Our leaders have come forward from such a deprived stage and if we do not facilitate them with at least a PAJERO, what are we good for". Had she lost her mind when she said that? They were elected, then, to serve the country and the countrymen, not to spend billions for their personal trophy. Why do we think we had Maoist insurgency in our country? Its because of leaders (leader's family like her), who snatched chunks from the national treasure for their personal gain.
If we had a vision to invest all those national money in something better for national sovereignty, "peace and harmony" and infrastructural development, the life standard of maximum of our people would have been way up, we could hardly imagine. Its easy to criticize the leaders, many might say so but hey are we left with other choices? Shouldn't the ones who abused their authorities in the past be in jail rather than still being the national leaders? Aren't we having too many Robert Mugabe's in our country?
The reason why I brought this currency differences is that in our practical businesses in everyday life we are going to have tough time again and again because the cost purchase for everything is gonna go up. We are the least producing country. We are sorry for ourselves because we are only made the consumers of world market. We are finacially doomed. Whatever big businesses we have now is only trade, but not actually "producing". Our country can only progress if we could produce stuffs. We do not generate any power to help protect each other.
Trust has become a dead word for us. Country like ours in the present is always vulnerable and big fish countries can easily manipulate when our own leaders are jokers. Warlords from the decade long war are still fishing among our untrustworthiness. we are yet to indentify them.
During his tenure, Mr. Marichman did not give a big fat speech and stood silent against foreign encroachment but battled against the Gandhis. We had so many industies that created jobs inside the country and slowly but steadily was going to benefit many of our people in the long run. This step was and still is essential for the economic progress. Hello?? Are these leaders listening to what we are saying? Do they even know the meaning of ECONOMY, DEVELOPMENT? Anyway, the boldness of Marichman and his team must be appreciated because they understood that once we have foreign meddling in all of our businesses (because we are not smart enough), they are going to ruin everything. And unfortunately, they did. Our very own, Janakpur Cigarettes factory, National Airline, cotton factory ( i do not remember the name) and many more were swept away. Did we add anything in this 20-30 years? UNANSWERABLE.
Mr Marichman had to battle against the border closure of Nepal and tried his best to gift us with day to day supplies from far away countries in reasonable price in such a crisis, helping his own citizens. I remember several years ago SUJATA KOIRALA said to Indian ambassador to close down all the borders of our country just because his father was kept away from power. Imagine the differences between them. We still haven't forgiven her father for selling our aeroplanes abroad, and her pathetic teams have always ruined the country. Thank god, he was taken away from this earth quick.
The complain does not end up here either. Even when he (GPK) died, he died a hero (HERO FOR WHAT????). Given a VVIP funeral. Did he actually deserve such national respect?
Poor Marichman, he did not even ask for even the primary benefits for being a former PM. At least, this government should have stepped up to offer him the best. If the person incharge of this government could not even secure the life of a National hero, how can we be sure that he is a potent person for forth coming constitutional election.
We are still in the cloud of National Deterioration.
In the end, on behalf of Mr Marichman's son, I, myself want to thank many Nepalese staying inside and abroad who helped during his cancer battle. May his departed soul be in peace and may our society, economy flourish with stable politics.

Yes, I am dumbfounded to see fools everyday who are amazed with greedy spark in their eyes counting decreasing dollar equivalent to their currencies. These people don't really know what does that even mean and how this inflation is impacting our economy so badly. Leaders don't have vision and they called themselves leaders. There is no electricity, industries are run at measely power at given time only which is very counterproductive. Students are into hadtaal and bandha than study. General public are sheeps. There is no law, laws are tailored and favored. Convicts are wandering freely. This mass exodus of youth, which is a escalating demand of any developing nation is slithering away, and our shitty leaders are into 'bandha' — People don't understand, as money is being devalued constantly and spike in price of commodities, this just doesn't make sense, NRs exchange gets high to dollar and they're like 'whao, it's great'. I'm speechless. We're in inflation, economically we're collapsing, soon and officially we'll become a colony or a failed nation, we're in the process we are just waiting for some official declaration. Seems so.

I don't know how people are surviving the raging inflation, in our country, considering the fact that most of the population fall under the poverty line.
