Kun Mandir ho Passinthru ? There are lots and lots of Mandirs around in Kwalkhu. Kwalkhu Ganesh Thaan, Uma Maheswor Mandir, Jal dya ko saanu Mandir, Inaar sangai ko Cheebahal...i am from the center of Kwalkhu.

Oh and about Sandaar 5 star momo...I guess it had shifted on the street going to Dhaugaal tarkari bazaar. I guess the name has also changed.

But till one and half years back the taste was still the same. There are so many momo restaurants around in KTM valley now but this one still remains one of my very favorite. Cannot resist it and everytime I am home, the next day I go there to have MOMO even though since third day I get an upset stomach.....:D

Wah Wah momo...just starting to miss it too much

Talking about inar najikkai ko UmaaMaheiswar ko Mandir? How about the Golden Temple? As far as I know there is around 11 Chowks in one of those clustered houses of Kwalkhu.
I also remember that Saandar 5 satar Momo that used be quiet a treat. Recently I heard that Wonga Shima has been rooted out.

There was this "Bagalmukhi momo" between Mangalbazaar and Mahapaal. Was one of the good one in Patan.

Patandhoka Hall aghi ko Tibetan restaurants pani gazab thiyo. That KB Momo restaurant was still there. Although Ashok Hall is now a Party place.

Hi, you guys have not mentioned about the Halwai Pasal at Mamadu Galli, i.e. just behind the Krishna Mandir. Did you ever try Jeri, Swari from that shop? Perfect for the breakfast with a cup of Chiya.

Yes, to my dismay, I saw in my last visit, the giant wonga sheema has been rooted out, leaving the view of Patan as piles of concrete, without any greenery. When I was a child, occassionally my kite used to entangle into that ramified tree, often making me curse it. But I never meant or wished the end of it. Now the uprooting of that historical and centuries old tree has left Patan without greenery, and possibly what could be called a historical landmark.

It is said that the particular peepal tree was planted in the palace of the Kirant Kings, which later grew up so enormously that it destroyed the palace itself, the ruins of which is said to be buried underneath where the tree used to stand. The root of the peepal tree spread underground as far as Banglamukhi in the north and TaBahal in the south, which gave birth to the peepal bote in Banglamukhi and TaBahal respectively.

There is also a palace styled temple on the way from that tree to Mahapal, which is said to be a sacred temple of the Kirant Kings. This tells how old and historical Patan is.
