is it that hard for nepali people to give up indian ways.........? I feel sorry for all you people who come here .. who can't even voice their own opinion about being a nepali, but favor indian ways...... if you feel so attached to india and her ways... don't you think it's time you people switched sites and go to some indian sites and kiss their ass.....

most nepalis are just DARSHAK's..... all you can do is watch.. but have no guts to speak a single word.... most of you are good at criticizing others and what they do but can't stand up and start someting... YOU CAN SEE A LICE ON SOMEONE's BODY BUT CAN"T SEE A BUFFALO UP UR ASS..
People like Confused sicken me.... all you have to say is bad about others.... you can't even stand up and say Yes I am a Nepali,..... I won;t listen to hindi songs... I won't see hindi movies... I will try to minimize my use of hindi culture everyday..... I will try to act and walk and talk as a nepali in every possible way .......

Maybe if you can't feel me... it's time to give up ur nepali citizenship and hit the border to the south...

I asked a simple a question... how about we dont' dance to hindi songs? nobody even uttered a word..... people this is s nepali site.. not indian... no one is going to say anythign to you if you say ... yes today I won't dance to indian music... how hard is it?

I guess most of you forgot those years before multiparty democrazy came to nepal.. when we all had to stand on line to get sugar and oil... but we were proud to be a nepali... nobody wanted to bow down to india.....

but just after 15 yrs.......... looks like the whole generation of nepalis have turned up indian..... what a change? shame on you people....

jai nepal

Pade Queen No 1, Buddha is not a Nepali ? He is an Indian? The answers to these questions have been very subjective. Worldwide, Indian literatures, history has been widely publicised and available .Because of that, their claim that Budhha is an Indian has been almost established as a fact (Still widely disputed). But using your own method of determining who is Buddha, he is not an Indian either (based on your argument that he was not born in Nepal those days). Well, he wasn't born in India those days either. There was no country called India back then just as there was no country called Nepal some 2500 years ago. Now which system do you want to apply; current national border or whatever the country was called then ?
We all learned in our school as kids that Buddha was a Nepali just as much the Indians learned Buddha as one of them. It's upto you who you want to lean towards. But it will be an irony to fight or do hinsaa over the ownership of Buddha.

First, of all murkhas..............there was no nepal and no indian like today. buddha was born in nepal as india tried to prove hard but went to drain. He was born here but he got nirvana in bodgaya. Now, i dont think buddha is from everywhere. He is from tibet, nepal, india, sirlanka, china, thailand and every nation they like...........

I am sure buddha is not happy to see ppl fighting for his nation. He wanted his philoshopy and idelogy to surive not his figure........

The name India came later, during Buddha's era the entire region of North India was called Bharat. Buddha spoke Maghadi, a dialect close to Pali. He spent his entire life preaching in the North Indian Kingdoms of Kosala, and then in Magadha. So how can we call him a Nepali? Yes! he was born in Lumbini, which at present is inside Nepal's territory.

Anyway, as moneyminded said great souls like Buddha belong to the world, not to an individual country or religion.

It isn't important thing where buddha was born, to whom he was born.. The most important thing is his deed.. No one asks u where buddha was born.. It is very very minor before his grand works.

So, Stop playing dirty politics in the name of buddha :(
I respect Buddha , not his nationality...

I agree that, we share a lot of cultural roots with india, but it is also true that because of of the agressive influence of indian media in our culture, our own culture hasn't been able to develop in more fulfilling way, for example in the film industry, the reason why out film industry isn't where it should be is coz , we watch too many hindi movies, and our goals is to tell stories and make movies the way they do, instead of developing our own style and identity. thats my two cents
