I believe ANA has nonprofit status and they can initiate the process but I would rather have Sajha take initiative on this than ANA. I trust Sajha more :-) Revival

UPDATE: Today is Saturday August 28th. So far I have only received 2 (two) checks. We have a platform here in sajha to make a difference. But we can make a difference only if you as an active member of sajha, take your time to contribute what you can to this fund. For most of us living in the US, $10 or $20 would not make any serious dent in our pockets. Let's reach in and give what we can. Don't procrastinate, please mail your checks today. Please mail your checks to the address found in - http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/fundraiser.cfm

After considering this matter further I have decided to use my personal paypal account for this cause because this would make it easier for a lot of people. You can use the button below to make your contributions.

Urbi (and all others... who is having trouble sending money for a great cause!) Here are altrenative steps: 1) Get a pen and a check 2) Write the amount 3) Sign the check 4) Put it in an envelop 5) Write the address that is posted in this thread to mail the payment 5) Get a 37cents stamp 5) Drop it in your outgoing mail 6) After dropping it in your outgoing mail, you will be glad that you have contributed for a great cause of saving life of fellow nepalese in need! Revival Sadly but Still waiting for a new beginning

Hi Apart from just collecting money. I think all the nepalis from all over the world should get together. Like Nepalis from Australia, USA, philippines, etc and convey a message that we are not very happy with the going ons in our country and show it in Nepal Television or something. You know some strong message that pertains to all the Neta's, Maoists and anyone who is bringing negativity to the country. I think living away from nepal does not leave us with much choices. But we have to be heard as the Nepali janta. I know not very many people are left in nepal as most nepalese are out of the country. Lets give them the reason WHY and that we all want to come back to our country to make it a better place if only it will condemn violence.

Thank You All, we were able to make a difference! Thank you for coming together for this. We have raised a total of $1,765.41 from generous contributors. We have finally been able to hand a total of Rs. 1,31,064.00 to Raneesh today, Monday September 20, 2004. The sum was handed to Raneesh by Ashutosh Tiwari, a long time active member of sajha. We hope that this sum will help him in his kidney transplant for which he is scheduled to leave for India in the next few weeks. Special thanks to Mukta Adhikari as well as Bipasana Sakya and Nagma K.C. and for helping raise a significant amount during the Greater Boston Nepali Community Barbeque, and through personal initiatives. Thanks a lot to the Boston Community as well as the extended sajha community for all your support and understanding. Definitely the way to go! See pictures at - http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/fundraiser.cfm

Wonderful job by sajha.com and everybody who supported such a noble job. This shows the power of people. We can do any thing if we go collectively utilizing the power of current days communication technology. San ji, is it anyway possible to creat a sajha emergency fund, in which anybody can contribute any amount of money any time for the purpose of any big and useful donations in future for the benefit of Nepalese in Nepal? Just a thought!! Good wishes to Raneesh!!

Great job, guys. This is one of those rare occasions when we can be proud of being Nepali. Recent events have done a lot to tarnish our nation's image, but her citizens uniting for such a noble cause shows that nationalism( no cynical connotation!) is far from a defunct concept in Nepal, so beautifully menifest in this venture -- most of the contributors oceans away from their homeland. I could not contribue any amount, but still, I feel good that the harmony among Nepalese all around the world is well and truly intact. Hats off to my fellow countrymen!
