Game of the century today of Colts (7-0) and Patriots (8-0) which has never happened before in NFL History.

Patriots have been accused of running the score and Belichick been blamed this as a result of his anger. What Patriots supposed to do - spike the ball ? Would that not be insulting to the opposing team again?

Last year Patriots lost to Colts when they have comfortable lead. Bad luck I would call.

Today the game may be extremely close. But many analysts say Patriots have slight edge.

Sammy Morris is out for the season - there is a talk going on that Corey Dillon may be back - remote possibility !

My guestimate NE 35 - Colts 24

Most of the sports analysts and commentators were right - Patriots are better team than Indianapolis Colts.

There a pass interference called which I did not like.

Only after I ordered a double peg of whiskey,  Patriots could narrow the gap of 10 points.

Patriots did not score on the starting drive today, which they can not boast any more.

Congratulations Patriots on winning game of the century.

hey Hey the evil (Bilichick) beat the good (Dungy)

yes, Patriots are the main contenders this year. but, regular season success doesn't always guarantee post-season success.

However, one thing is for sure. That 4 minute double touchdown by Brady, and of course that pass to the 3-yard line in the first one, marvelous, and I think in QB duel, Brady have outrun Manning this season - proof - today's game.

New England's schedule: Bills, Eagles, Ravens, Steelers, Jets, Fins and Giants. The only formidable challenge is the Steelers. So, are we looking at 16-0 season??? Watch out '72 Fins. Record sighted.

Yeah IN YO FACE TO ALL THE PEOPLE MAKING IT GOOD vs. EVIL game.

THE COMEBACK KID is BACK AGAIN. Although it was not pretty, bottomline PATRIOTS won the game.

Next up we shall see them @Gillett Stadium in AFC showdown in January.

There used to be a talk in the NFL world that Payton got 100% of ads but Brady got 100% of the models.

Now Brady is taking away some of the share of Payton by becoming an underwear model.

I am not a football fan but yes, I'd like to see Patriots as well as the Celtics bring home the trophy this year.

Unbeaten regular season lifts Belichick to second AP Coach of Year honor

Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Spygate be damned! Bill Belichick of the unbeaten New England Patriots is The Associated Press 2007 NFL Coach of the Year.

With the Patriots motivated by a spying scandal - and owning the deepest talent base in football - Belichick guided his team to the first 16-0 regular season in league history.

Jeff Lewis / Sharp Shot
Bill Belichick won his second AP Coach of the Year award.

That was enough to offset the major blemish on Belichick's resume: a $500,000 personal fine, $250,000 fine for the team and the loss of a first-round pick in the upcoming draft after the Patriots were caught videotaping New York Jets coaches during the season opener.

Spygate didn't stop 29 of the 50 voters on a nationwide panel of media members who cover the NFL from voting for Belichick on Thursday. In a season highlighted by many strong coaching performances, Belichick beat out Green Bay's Mike McCarthy, who received 15 votes for leading the Packers to a 13-3 record and the NFC North title.

"This is definitely a team recognition, but one that I appreciate very much on a personal level," Belichick said in a statement issued by the club.

He also won the award in 2003.

"If anyone is deserving of such an award it really is Bill," Patriots owner Robert Kraft said. "I know the energy and effort and planning and time (he puts in). He's had his foot on the pedal all year, just working so hard and always doing everything he can to put the team in a position to win first."

Does Kraft believe this award will silence the critics?

"What I've tried to say is the only way that'll go away is if we just keep on winning, and winning convincingly, and I think he did it," Kraft said. "He did it and I think the fact that he got this award speaks to that."

The first coach since Don Shula in 1972 to lead his team through a spotless regular season, Belichick won the award for the second time in four years. In 2003, the Patriots went 14-2 and won their final 12 games. This time, Belichick's team rampaged through the first part of the schedule, then won a handful of close games on the way to 16-0.

"You know, I think back to sitting in the stands," Kraft said of his days as a fan before he owned the team, "when we went 1-15 and 2-14. And, you know, I saw the '72 Dolphins, and to see this team perform the way it did this year, and in the end, he is the conductor. And he's got some great players, but he's the conductor and I just think the job he did was superb."

While the perfect journey this season seemed somewhat joyless as the Patriots followed the lead of their detached coach, there was no denying Belichick's ability to motivate. His players used Spygate as a rallying point, cultivating an us-against-them mentality that clearly worked.

Belichick is involved in all personnel decisions, meaning the additions of Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Donte' Stallworth to the receiving corps had his touch.

Plus, Belichick is a master at game-planning. Add that skill to the deepest offense in the league (a record 589 points, including an NFL mark of 75 TDs) and a stingy defense that yielded 274 points, fifth in the league, and there's, well, perfection.

AP NFL Coach of the Year Voting
Coach Team Votes
Bill Belichick New England 29
Mike McCarthy Green Bay 15
Wade Phillips Dallas 2
Jack Del Rio Jacksonville 2
Jon Gruden Tampa Bay 1
Tony Dungy Indianapolis 1

"There are three things that get better with age: good cigars, red wine and to me it looks like coaches who have the ability," Kraft said. "He's really hit his sweet spot and I'm really happy for him personally."

Also getting votes were Dallas coach Wade Phillips and Jacksonville's Jack Del Rio (two each), and Indianapolis' Tony Dungy and Tampa Bay's Jon Gruden (one each).

The only other Patriots coach to win the award was Belichick's mentor, Bill Parcells, in 1994.

Since joining the Patriots in 2000 after an unsuccessful head coaching stint in Cleveland (36-44), Belichick has turned New England into the center of the NFL universe. The Patriots have won three Super Bowls this decade - no other team has more than one - and are 91-37 in the regular season under Belichick. They have won the AFC East five straight years, with no fewer than 10 victories in any of those seasons.

NEW YORK -- For all their achievements, past Most Valuable Players John Unitas, Dan Marino and Joe Montana never had a season like Tom Brady's 2007.

The New England Patriots' record-setting quarterback added The Associated Press NFL MVP award Saturday in the same manner his team romped through its schedule, going 16-0. On the way to the first unbeaten regular season since Miami went 14-0 in 1972, Brady put on a performance for the ages, which earned him all but one vote from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the league.

"I have always been a huge football fan and will always have great respect for the history of this game," Brady said. "I am flattered to join such an esteemed list of players, many of whom I consider the greatest of all time. I hope that I can set as great of an example for kids around the world as the previous MVPs did for me.

"I am grateful to all of the voters for any consideration I was given. It is a tremendous honor and I am sure it is one that my family will one day look back on with great pride.

The eight-year veteran who already has won three Super Bowls helped the Patriots tear through the record books by throwing for 50 touchdowns. He beat Peyton Manning's league mark by one, and also threw 23 of those TD passes to Randy Moss, which lifted the receiver past Jerry Rice's record of 22.

New England scored 589 points, another record, as was the Patriots' 75 touchdowns. Brady led the NFL with a 117.2 passer rating -- no, not another record, but close to Manning's 121.1 in 2004. Only one full-time AFC starter, Jacksonville's David Garrard, had fewer than Brady's eight interceptions. And Brady threw 253 more passes than Garrard.

Brady also was tops with a 68.9 completion percentage, and his 4,806 yards were 383 more than runner-up Drew Brees of New Orleans.

Brady joins a roster of AP MVPs that includes quarterbacks Unitas, Bart Starr, Fran Tarkenton, Marino, Montana, John Elway and Steve Young -- all Hall of Famers.

Yet Brady insists individual accomplishments don't rule his world.

"As I have learned over the course of my time with the Patriots, the most meaningful accomplishments are always the ones I have celebrated with my teammates," he said. "I am certainly proud of the success that we have enjoyed so far this season."

There also was plenty of praise to go around from teammates, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick.

"To be honest, I'm surprised it took so long for him to get this recognition because he's sort of been our MVP since he stepped on the field in '01, in my mind, and the way he just took over," Kraft said. "He treats everyone in that locker room the same way he treats me or the coaches.

"And the thing that I've found most interesting is if you talk to role players or backups how he talks to them and motivates them. He treats them like they're going to the Pro Bowl, with that kind of respect."

Added Mike Vrabel, who has gone from a role player to a Pro Bowl linebacker over the years:

"He's our MVP. I think we've known that for quite some time. "I think his work ethic day in and day out (is most impressive). We get to practice against him, so I think that makes us better. I think it makes us a better defense. He puts a lot of time into it. It's important to him. Going out there every week and then trying to play his absolute best is a priority for him."

Brady is the first Patriot selected NFL MVP. He drew 49 of the 50 votes from a nationwide panel of media members who regularly cover the NFL. Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre, the only three-time MVP, got the other vote.

"He deserves it," Belichick said. "I have thought for a long time that there is no past or present quarterback I'd rather coach than Tom Brady, and I am more certain of that every year he plays."

Only in one game, a 20-10 win over the Jets, did Brady not throw for a touchdown. He had 12 games with at least three TD passes.

Those are great stats, but they hardly tell the entire story. Brady's leadership skills overshadow just about everything.

"Tom's one of those guys that goes out there and tries to perform and compete every week," center Dan Koppen said. "He gives maximum effort on every play and every game. What he did was outstanding, but I know he wants more than that. That's what you need in your quarterback."

The previous two MVP awards went to running backs LaDainian Tomlinson (2006) and Shaun Alexander (2005). Before that, quarterbacks won four in a row: Peyton Manning in 2004 and in 2003, when he shared it with Steve McNair; Rich Gannon in 2002; and Kurt Warner in 2001.

Can't wait for Saturday for the Pats to face Jac Jaguars. Jaguars are considered to be a team that can derail Pats of their quest of 19-0 season.

Taylor and Jones-Drew need to be stopped for their running games.

I want Chargers to beat Colts so that Pats will get chance to be "Classy" once again to LTomlinson.

Both teams are in good shape and records. I think there will be a margin of 3-7 in winning or loosing. Its good to watch a compitative game.

Brady adds AP Offensive Player of Year to MVP

Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Just like all those wins, the NFL awards keep rolling in for Tom Brady.

The league's Most Valuable Player added The Associated Press 2007 Offensive Player of the Year honors to his collection Tuesday, easily outdistancing his main weapon on the unbeaten New England Patriots, Randy Moss.

Tom Brady threw an NFL record 50 touchdown passes.

Indeed, of the four players who received votes from a nationwide panel of 50 media members who regularly cover the NFL, three were Patriots. Brady, of course, led the way, just as he did through the first 16-0 regular season in league history.

"We set out a bunch of goals early in the season," Brady said, "and I think I said the best part about playing quarterback here is I just have to do my job, show up every day and work hard just like everybody else. I think my job description is just a bit different than everybody else's, but there's a lot of satisfaction knowing that I can just come out there and worry about myself and expect that everybody else is going to do their job.

"It's been a fun season. There's no doubt about it."

And it's been a rewarding season for Brady, the first New England player to be chosen MVP and now the first Patriot to win Offensive Player of the Year. He collected 35 and a half votes to 12 and a half for Moss. Wes Welker, the Patriots' other starting receiver, got one, as did Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre.

Brady, an eight-year veteran who's already a winner of three Super Bowls, threw for 50 touchdowns, beating Peyton Manning's league mark by one. He also threw 23 of those TD passes to Moss, lifting the receiver past Jerry Rice's record of 22.

New England scored 589 points and 75 TDs, both records. Brady's precision -- a 68.9 completion percentage, 117.2 passer rating and just eight interceptions -- and yards passing (4,806, 383 more than runner-up Drew Brees of New Orleans) made him a natural choice for his second award in less than a week.

"Individual awards haven't been as important to me as the team goals, and I've said that for a long time," Brady said. "While I'm very flattered to be honored in that way, I understand that my greatest satisfaction comes from winning games and being the leader of this football team. I take that job very seriously and I hope that translates into a win this week."

That would be Saturday night against Jacksonville in the second round of the playoffs. The Patriots are seeking the second perfect season in league history; only Miami -- 17-0 in 1972 -- has gone through the regular schedule and the postseason unbeaten.

Since Favre won Offensive Player in 1995, only two quarterbacks have taken the award: Manning with his record-setting 2004 season, and now Brady in surpassing Manning's achievement.

Last year's winner was running back LaDainian Tomlinson of San Diego.

Brady is the fourth straight double winner, joining Manning, running back Shaun Alexander of Seattle, and Tomlinson.

"If you go ask him he'd probably say the same thing: all the individual awards don't matter," Patriots running back Kevin Faulk said. "It's the team awards that matter, and with the team awards you get all the individual accolades."

Can't wait for the GreenBay-Giants game...

The weather right now is -2F with a wind chill that makes it feel like -17F. Manning junior might never have played in such extreme conditions but it is not about Manning but about the Giants special teams, rushing offense and defense. Remember Chicago and Greenbay earlier this season when temperatures were really low!!! Greenbay's special teams really suckd..I expect the same today..

Maybe Giants 23-17 Packers...Final score..
