I was planning on going for a fall drive up to Mt. Washington or burlington, VT area this weekend. Is it the best weekend to come or should I wait for one more week for the colors to peak? Any help would be appreciated!

I take that back! The best weekend would be oct 10th because accordint to the site, you can view near peak and peak foliage in parts of NH in that weekend (the extimates are based on past data).

Checked out the site, thanks a lot. Looks like its nearing peak in White Mountain region..so the best time to go is this weekend. Maybe you live in southern NH U-Day? Unless I am reading it wrong, the status as of 9/25 is 'well established' in northern NH.

I don't know what those websites say about peak time, but in my experience, you should wait a couple of weeks before you go there. If you want to have a scenic ride though the White Mountain forests, you may want to consider a drive along the Kangamangus Highway. Follow I-93 North to Exit 32 in New Hampshire. At the bottom of exit 32, turn left onto NH 112 East (the Kangamangus Highway). The Kangamangus Highway runs for about 30 - 35 miles along the most beautiful route in New Hampshire.

Ruasty ji, If you wait for couple of weeks, all there left for you to see will be the naked trees. Do you want to go to white mountains to see naked trees? Just wait for a month or 2 and you can see that on your backyard. -u_day

My honest opinion- all that is super overrated. Bostonian, you're planning to go for a drive to see some leaves turn pumpkinish while the slaved kids are being "fed" ho? Curious.

Bostonian is a name of a shoe brand. Do not use that to refer to people.

Its for the addressee u_day, not you. So, whats wrong if a shoe brand and a nick happen to have the same name? I think my socks I'm wearing right now is called TM.

Sure, I will post the pictures once I get back from the trip. I would rather see the colors with and few green trees now than naked trees and maple leaves on the ground few weeks later. Reading at Bug's posts and the demunitive way of his posts, its better to just ignore him. His opinions have no substance and his writings doesnt tell what he thinks about certain issues...at the best, he might be able to get you angry for minute. If the problems of the world would be solved if I do not enjoy the fall colors, then I would. Sadly, thats the not case and I am not stupid to ignore the beauty of the world.

Bostanian, you are out of your mind when angry (you said it) or not (i added). "Its better to ignore him" rey. Him? can you verify? and I don't see any sign of being ignored too. So where's YOUR "substance" in this statement or and other blabla you preach? Didn't I tell you to be careful what you jot down? Ah I forgot, you don't listen. So let me re-state my opinion of the fall in NH and/or VT- O.V.E.R.R.A.T.E.D (just my opinion). Plus if you'd rather see "few green trees than naked trees and maple trees on the ground few weeks later" whats the point? Drive down a few blocks and you'll see plenty.
