USCIS has a policy of allowing F-1/J-1 studetns to work legally by issuing Employjment Authorization Card under a special provision of ' Student Relief Program'. Since 1998, five South East Asian Nation's students have recieved such immunity based on their situation of severe economic downfall and political crisis. Last year after Katrina, USCIS again issued 'Student Relief Program' for students form those nations adversely affected by Katrina. We can also claim for similar immunity from USCIS but there has to be a legislative action. We can clain such based on the over-a-decade armed conflict, political crisis, economic downfall, low per capita income of $250 and the 20th Failure nation (recently announced as reported in mysansar.com) Please refer to www.santosgere.wordpress.com for detailed information OR Older posting here in Sajha, 'CREATE PRESSURE GROUP', 'PRESSURE GROUP' For this , we have to have a specific target of signature collection campaign. The collection of signatures will start immediately. Lets begin our peaceful-fight for equality, here in the most liberal democracy, the United States.

I thought that this rule was already over there...i think you need to show economic hardship due to ongoing war...you can work out campus and don't need to worry about being illigal...

Economic hardship and Student Relief Program are two different procedures. Under Economic hardship we must apply for EAD, Employmet authorization Card and that takes 60 days to 150 days in an average to be approved or rejected. While Student Relief Program , is a right of a student from specific countries, which USCIS has determined as eliginle for employment authorization.

For this purpose, we have a serious challange in front of us. 1. we have to collect data of students indifferent states. 2. we have to gather signatures of the students , as many as possible 3. we then have to forward the appeal to consider to the relevant congressmen.senators in the states we are in 4. We will be submitting a seperate petition in the USCIS for a 'blanket approval' of students work authorization decision especially for the students of nepal based on the facts, which establishes that we are eligible. THE FACTS 1. nepals economic situation: any writing, scholarly articles, data, analysis, economics center's review, that establkishes that we are in a verge of severe economic crisis and that economically is has recently, Recently become extremely difficult for the students from Nepal to cover their expenses due to devaluation of property, lack of financial resources back home, devaluation of property value due to armed conflict, etc. We can also show the examples that property cannot be sold in many parts of the nation due to armed conflict. There may be other examples too…….THINK….THINK 2. ....

FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN ECONOMIC HARDSHIP Applying for economic hardship is a two-step process: Step One: Meet with an OIP advisor to confirm your eligibility and review the conditions and procedures for applying. It is recommended that you bring a draft of a letter explaining your economic need and supporting evidence that documents this. If you are eligible to apply for economic hardship, the advisor will request a new SEVIS I-20 with a recommendation for economic hardship. Step Two: Meet with an OIP advisor to have your application materials reviewed. Once your application is complete and has been reviewed, mail it to USCIS. Conditions and Restrictions of Employment If USCIS authorizes your hardship employment application, you will receive an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) from USCIS granting you permission to work off-campus. Typically, permission is granted for one year or for the remainder of your academic program, whichever period is less. Please also note the following: You may work off-campus for up to 20 hours per week while school is in session and full time during vacation periods. You may work in any job, related or not related to your studies. You may not start employment until you have received an EAD or before the start date indicated on the EAD. Hardship employment does not count towards your ability to work on-campus or affect your eligibility for practical training. If you transfer to another institution, your EAD becomes invalid

SIGNATURE COLLETION DOCUMENT UPLOADED IN www.santosgere.wordpress.com Please copy and paste in word, print it is A4 paper (white), double spaced, Times 12 pt font. Please print the document and strt collecting signatures of all Nepalese students around you. Believe in yourselves, we can and we will make a difference! FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE EARLIER POSTS: Please refer to www.santosgere.wordpress.com and earlier sajha.com posts under 'PRESSURE GROUP IN USA' threads. Good Luck. Mail the documents to LAW NEPAL's address (see home page of www.santosgere.wordpress.com) FOR ALL OF YOU 'OPTISMISTIC' NEPALESE STUDENTS , you will be surprised to know, this is how it started for the 5 nations of southeast asia, which are now developed nations. For those of you who may be 'PESSIMISTIC' by some reason, please allow the campaign to flow so that not only us, the generations following us will not have to face the problem we have been facing and also for the sake of putting an end to 'illegal immegrant' tag to nepali students.

listen people. nowadays we don't need to apply for work permit. we just need to join the Latinos, Hispanic, Mexican and other illegal aliens on the street to demostate and protest. we can also carry our Nepal flag.
