Hi everybody, I was having a heated argument yesterday and in the process found out that I have no idea where the funding for Mr. Girija Prasad Koirala or any other politicians in Nepal, came from. Who funded the campaign for girija and khrishna prasad bhattarai ? Please enlighten.. thanks.

As far as I know the funding comes from party's central committee and from the candidates themself. Parties receive donations from corporations and people and spread it amongst the candidates, ofcourse not equally. Candidates also organize fund raisers and ask for donations and use their own funding as well.

ok, this is how the funding is done for political parties of nepal is done in most cases. Every party has a main leader and some senior leaders and some petty leaders who eventaully gets ministership in the government when they form one, that's why they struggle to form a government by all means (UML with RPP, NC with RPP and Sadbhavana etc). Now, initially they are funded by business tycoons like khetan, golcha, amatyas, jyotis etc. but once the government is formed, they amash enough wealth for the party to run for at least another decade. The main leader tries to stay clean and so does the senior leaders. in NC case, GPK and formerly Sher Bahadur. then other leaders such as Govinda B Joshi, Khum Bahadur Khadka, Bal Bahadur Rai, Gachchhadar etc are ones who get portfolio where they can easily get bribes, such as forest, education and sports, commerce, agriculture etc. within 5-12 months, they amash enough wealth that would survive the party for a long time. That's why when there is UMl govt, they don't prosecute NC, and when NC have the govt they don't prosecute UML. A chain reaction, until KG interfered and all is history that we all know of. parites like RPP and Sadbhavana are already rich because of former feudal lords in teh party. Majdoor Kisan is primarily funded by the farmers of bhaktapur, that's why are the poorest of all the parties. UML made a 6 storied party office within 6 months in the govt, go figure...

All of you must be familiar with Samsad Suvida to import cars. MP had discounted customs on vehicle imports and every 4 import, the 5th is custom free. So, they arrange with the business tycoons, who are always eager to get imported vehicles, and use the MPs to import vehicles. You probably understand how they make $$ with this. This information was relayed to me by an MP who happened to be in the US and i used to have regular conversation with him.

Dumb question? This is one of the smartest questions I've seen lately in Sajha... and straight to the point reply by Sujanks... hats off to you.. ha!! No wonder they got reason to bitch about it since their source has been tied up by Gyane.. hah!! "A" got screwed up by "B" and "B" is having all the fun and "A" are not happy about it. eh!! And we, poor souls, poor people of the poorest country, the "C"s are getting fked, either way... ha.

Hi fountaindew, you probably know me, yes I am he whose name is agya too. But, I am not the one who has come to rise the dumb question on sajha.com. that dude knows me very well, so he must crack his brain to come alone with the popular name to disguise himself just because his parents didn't give him such a beloved name. On the other side of glob, I need to understand that there are 100s of thousand Agyas in this planet. Fountaindew, I assure you that the user of this thread is not the one whom you r guessing.

You must have read the contemporary news: TX law doesn't allow to be used the corporate funding for political campaign, for instance Rep. of majority leader, Top Delay's indictment. But, more than two-third of US states have no such a rule. Both major parties, republican and Demo. get involved in rising funds for their candidates. You probably have received some sort of junk e-mail for asking a donation. If you would feel that you need to know more, you could log in their `website, no wonder you will find there how to donate tons of dollars. Mr. in Nepal, there is not such a rule to forbid for funding. How king and his royahities get money to enjoy (we know that there is VAT), how maoists survive; by the same token, how politicians survive? Do you think every one of them picks money from his/her money plant? Of course u r right, it is a dumb question. You should know that all political parties collect the tons of donations so they can use that donated money for their leader's campaign. I guess, for campaign, candidates get money through their parties and allies. Peace out........

GALLANT I would give you the benifit of doubt that you were either high on drugs or totally wasted while drinking. Otherwise you wouldn't say something that's totally incoherent and makes no sense. But you're right there may be 100 of Agyas or George Bushes in Sajha but I don't think you should worry on what questions I ask. After all it's not your business to correct everything that goes wrong in this world right? Or are you Mr. self-righteous? And stop sending me emails as I'm in a good mood these days, otherwise I've always picked on smartasses like you, beaten them up and made them lick my shit ever since the day I was born. Don't push your luck too far with people you don't know.

I would say either being over smart is the root of all evil or the lack of common sense or understanding is the root of all evil. Let me clear up the ambiguity in this MSG, so that Fountaindew won't need to demonstrate his averse morality. Plz, read again my MSG [ fountaindew, you probably know me (Agya from fallschurch, VA), yes I am he whose name is agya too. But, I am not the one who has come to rise the dumb question on sajha.com ( FD could be confused here from 2 words: "Dumb Question", you need to go back and read the topic of this thread. Then you can learn the referring words are part of topic, and my MSG was not referring to FD alone)]. FountainD, I want you to clear for me to understand your MSG:- "stop sending me emails as I'm in a good mood these days, otherwise I've always picked on smartasses like you, beaten them up and made them lick my shit ever since the day I was born. Don't push your luck too far with people you don't know." Yes, you can do anything, but do not hesitate to use the democracy's norms (feel free to write, read and speak). I only like to request with you, Plz show us the best way to treat people. I am glad to discus about anything in democratic way, and I have no comments at all even you have blamed me as a drugaddict or alcoholic person (it is something like snake sees snake's leg). All I can say is that I am a nonalcoholic and non smoker person, you rarely find a friend like my character within your peer-group or Nepalese enclaves. You would have felt some sort of adverse argument for calling named Agya. It is true, and I feel free to say my opinion is: Mr. Fountaindew and Agya (Original MSG writer) are two different nick names of sajha.com, but same person.

I don't think it's necessary for me to make you understand the message. I'll just beat the shit out of you first and then you'll understand everything douche bag!! Don't try to act smart with me.
