Here are my questions to the Rally organisers: Where were you when the politicians, bureaucrats and sundry were snatching money day in and day out that was to be used for sick children and mothers in Nepal? Were you not part of the group that went to welcome and garland the corrupt leaders and praised them to sky high when they individually visited the US as recently as in January 05? Where were you hiding your face in these free dinner and cocktail parties when the Embassy in Washington DC and the UN Mission in New York were holding parties after parties, flowing kholo of alcohol, in the pretext of democracy day, King?s birthday, etc., when the country was literally begging for money from the foreign countries? Did you not protest when 20,000 girls are lured and forced to spend a hellish life in Indian brothels yearly due to lack of school education and employment opportunities in Nepal? Where was your protest rally when Surya Bahadur Thapa was re-appointed as the PM who was responsible for mass deforestation in Nepal during the Panchayati era? Where was your protest rally when the World Bank, at the behest of corrupt Education Ministry within Kaiser Mahal, spent over 100 crores of rupees allegedly for basic primary school education of village children who otherwise would not have access to education but the result was that less that 10% of the target was achieved while the money was siphoned out by those corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in Kathmandu? Where was your protest rally when the innocent villagers are killed by the Royal Nepal Army in the pretext of suspecting them of being the Maoist informers? Where is your protest rally when the Maoists are killing the innocent people on a daily basis and many of the villagers are displaced? Where was your loud protest when a large overhead water tankful of cash was found in a former minister's house? And now, I learn that you are bringing Sujata Koirala to pollute the rally??? Please ask her to answer these questions: In which passport she traveled to the US? How much income tax she has paid yearly? What are the sources of her income of her high living in Nepal? How many corrupt scandals did she indulge in while her father was the PM? As an extra constitutional authority, how many ambassadors she was responsible for appointing while her father was the PM? These seem to be of personal type of questions but knowing that she is out as a political person, she needs to be accountable to the public first. I think she is number one source of GP Koirala?s trouble which was transferred to bear the entire country. I think the rally organizers have a lot to answer for than getting their statements and photos in the Nepal newspapers. There are people when their sources of benefits are disrupted, then they will protest. As soon as these illegal benefits are restored, the rally or protest will fizzle out. Of course, these are serious charges but answer these first as serious questions. I am not a supporter of the King nor the supporter of a leader or a political party or a movement. I am just for restoration of the democracy but not the type that we have seen in the last 14 years. The same characters looming around, we have doubts whether they will do anything good for the country even if they are given the chance again for the 5th or 6th times. Need I say more????

Shame on those who invited Sujata Koirala in the rally, if it is true. सरहरुलाई अझैं चाप्लुसी गर्ने रोग ले छोड्या छैन जस्तो छ नि अम्रिकामा बसेर पनि? नेपालीको बानि। कहिल्यै नजानि॥

these questions are legitimate. but some questions are missings. I am trying to come up with these questions. Where was your protest against the royal massacre? Where was your protest against the newly appointed king who was indulged in social crimes (rape, murtichori, illegal business)? Where was your protest when the allowances to the Royals was hicked? Does Sujata really represents your voice, if you are protesting and believe that it is for good reason? And last but not least, what is the status of formar Nepal ambassador to UN Mr. Murari Raj Sharma? Why he is in the US when he finished his term?

I personally don't support sujata or her clan, but listen since you have such strong questions to ask her why don't you come down to the rally and ask her.You can have a anti koirala section lol. Me and my friends are hoping to ask her a few questions if we can. I don't know why people think that just because people are supporting democracy, they are automatically supporting girija and his cliq. we are supporting the instuition, we don't want that old democracy we want a new sustainable one. And where was my protest before, I was too busy not caring till i realised that all these things affect me and i can try to make a difference. People have slowly begun to realise that, they can't keep quiet as you can see on this site, and all over , people want to be heard.

Now that I understand Murari Raj, former UN Ambassador, will also be speaking in the rally, I challenge him to answer these questions: a) Tell us specific achievements that helped Nepal and Nepalis during his tenure as the UN ambassador initiated by him b)Is it not true that you were being called back and so you decided to stay back in the name of democracy protest? Again the question ----where was he when such human atrocites were being committed in Nepal by the Army and politicians alike? Is it fair to suck the juice till it is empty and leave it out? As you were part of the system that perpetuated corruption, tell us the ills of the system as an insider and then we will appreciate your courage. Be aware of those wolves who are in the garb of goats....

Hey Mardshab, Why didn't u ask the same question when they were doing the Pro-King takeover rally? Why were u so quiet at that time? Give me that answer and i'll give u all the answer from ya questions. U said u are not the supporter of king but you are pretty inclined towards it.. perhaps I may be wrong but was just curious why u were quiet at that time.

to be frankly, nepalese people even in the US are divided as according to their support to political party back in nepal. I cannot ask you to revoke your support, but as i see we are here for some other reason. stop bad politics and believe in collective growth. support each other here when in need and extend that support to nepal if you can. Neither king nor political parties can change your society and your well being. it is you who can make the difference.

Mastersaab! valid question ..... I expect any sajha stars to address Mastersaab?s 100% legitimate concerns. I am not dragging anybody's ....ss here but expecting somebody to answer in the same intensity as they are supporting the rally. Don?t give me bull....t telling me that ?I am just participant not organizer. If you are not organizer why the hell you are advocating for rally?

Yes you need to say more...MArd sab. Khali birodh ko lagi birodh garera suhayena. You asked lots of questions to organizors.... and objected to Sujata's presense. Yes I do agree with you, in questionning Sujata's presence ,but if she wants to join the rally then no problem, I am surprised why the orgganizor are making it huge propoganda, I mean she is nothing in nepalese politics and it should not be highlighted and exaggerated more... The main thing is that Rally, whoever supports the democracy in Nepal , should join the Rally. Putting some shortcoming of Democracy can not be an alternative for democracy. Aba tyo din rahena jaha raja laai bisnu ko avtaaar maanera puja garne. Ani why didn't you ask the questions about the millions of rupees which goes for Royal budget...? So Mr Destination and others. do you believe that monarchy is the way forward? If yes then fine I am not going to try, so do you think that democracy is the way forward, but the netas were useless, therefore you can't support them? Everyone seems to have this you are with us or against us attitude which is very unproductive. Of course the netas are totally useless and there is a chance that if they will come to power again they will, misuse their power, but so has our beloved king hasn't he? All three sides have black marks on them. But here is the thing at least in a democracy there is a framework where people like you and i can approach and lobby for issues. How can you do that with a king high up in his palace or a Maoist up in the hills? The Politicians got away with so many things coz the people let them, too many people were complacent, and just turned a blind eye(especially urban youth ). But hopefully things are changing people are getting more involved. Teti matra bhanu cha.

Many of the very legitimate questions asked with respectful sincerity by MardShab have been answered abundantly elsewhere in Kurakani. One of the key theme of his questions -- where were we when everything else was going wrong in the past -- have also been brilliantly responded to by ChisoPani. I just would like to add: Not withstanding the fact that some at the rally had been doing something -- or trying -- to address the ills that have plagued our society, taking no action today due to the inactions of yesterday will get us no where tomorrow. Someone has to start somewhere. May 15th, Washington, DC. BE THERE!!!

kale, Good to hear that you've decided to join us on Sunday! It is the support of the likes of you that gives us the strength to keep the struggle for liberty alive. Together, the free "we" can begin to build a better future for ourselves, without having to rely on a despot king, terrorist Maoists, or the inept political leaders. Please check out www.dcrally.org and go to "NY Travel Information" for information on a free round trip bus ride from NYC. Bring your friends along!

And, yes, it would be a great pleasure to meet you and other Sajhaites at the rally. I am sure we'll be able to figure out the Sajha gang there. As for myself, I will definitely be wearing my Palpali Dhaka Topi! :)
