It looks the telephone lines to the outside world is also cutoff.
Nepalnews.com is fully silent.
Kantipuronline.com is not updating anything.

Ashu is under country arrest (equivalently), because he can not connect
to internet, otherwise he would have spoken something.

So, 23.5 million peoples are under arrest and Ashu is one of them.

No problem, there are some news agency they will wire some important
messages, they carry international telephone based on satelite, like
Iridium used to be in the past: 900dollars a month. Some peoples are
there who can afford such costly media items and they are worth under
such extreme conditions.

Now, did you try to have your own network as I proposed in a thread
of Earthquake disaster so that you can find whats going on in Nepal.
If you did not have, then you are going to suffer more "mentally".
I am not worried much about my relatives, because they are not in
active politics, so they will close their lips and just keep watching.
I am of course worried about the fate of Nepal as a whole and intl
news media will surely bring or leak some;thing.

Gyanendra is doing more harm to himself. He is bating, because
political parties did not work. In fact political parties failed. UML
always made double standard of pulling out of govt. and Deoba
was impotent. Girija was busy in finding a place where RNA will
search his helicopter or bag and making hue and cries. So,
all political parties were Kam kura ekatira kumlo boki thimi tira...
Main part of the blame goes to Girija, then, UML and then
finally Deoba. Mukundo dhari human rightists and journalists are
useful idiots who were unable to forecast what could happen.

Should Maoists be blamed? Who cares.

Gorkhali-X,

where did you find, me being Desh drohi. Did you read my whole posting?
Where did in the posting I supported this move? You are making this note
based on the last sentence. Yes, why should I care who the heck Maoists
are? This whole problem arised not because of Maoists, Maoists are not
real threat in current scenario, who knows Maoists are creation of King G,
did you read BRB's posting in Kantipur daily how he declared that he
was working with King.

Well, it up to you how you consume my posting. But, read it carefully.
Are you supporting the current move of King G?

At this moment, I don't see that Ashu will be in great trouble
because Ashu never wrote anything controversial to severe
level in nepali newsmedia. No one will care what he wrote here
in Sajha.com, who in Nepali Govt. has such a vision to see things
appeared in internet outside Nepal. There hundreds of websites
they talk against King G or Maoists.

Mr. Pun .... Samaj Party, who was the main person in bringing
Maoists in table talk might be a right candidate for King 's next
primeminister from King G's own perspective. Or, Badri Prasad
Mandal.

Lets see who turns out to next rubber stamp PM of Nepal.

Gp,

Rest assured, the new govt. of Nepal udner the leadership of King will not impose press censorship. So you can still voice your concerns, I can, and ashu can. He is probably off-line because of what's happening in Nepal. Its a temporary measure to achieve peace, as I see it. Its always easy to deal with one idiot rather than 100 idiots- both the Maoists and the King will be dealing with each other directly rather than with 7+ political parties and 70+ civil societies. In the absence of intermediaries and beneficieries of the crisis, the Maoist problems seems more close to being resolved.

GP ji,
"At this moment, I don't see that Ashu will be in great trouble ...............
hundreds of websites they talk against King G or Maoists. "

-----> Why should he be? I was amused by your point/concern. If Ashu would be in trouble for his mild or otherwise political statements/belief, almost all the journalists, amateur to professional writers (related to even ounce of politics) would be HANGED. Your concern is BASELESS and totally illogical.

If it is just a general curiosity arised out of the blue, fear not GP ji, even if he happens to be in Nepal, security forces have other things to take care of other than searching from person they do not even know exist.

I just could not help but wonder " ke taal ko kuroo garnu bhayeko holaa...Kina Ashu would be in trouble bhanera awaakaa bhayera lekheko."

Anyetha nasochdinu hola.

(If anyone could in fact connect to nepal, please update us. Is it just the land-lines and cell phones or even ISPs are shut down?

IndisGuise...:-o

KG can do that if he want to play family relationship trump card. Don't ya guys know he is bhena of Badal. Here is inside news during last round table of peace talk Pun was able to persuade Badal but it was king who made mistake at that time by dissolving a goverment overnite and trying to catch maoist participant to put behind the jail. If Kg wouldn't have done that atleast we would have seen break in maoist movement.
peace out

Isolated Freak , if your statement is more than just wishful thinking, you seem privy to some insider information and can perhaps shed some light on what else the King and his supporters have been talking about in terms of what exactly he plans to do with the country.

Thanks.

No I did not know any personal relationships betn Badal and Mr. Pun.

But,

I am perplexed by your "this claim."

"but it was king who made mistake at that time by dissolving a goverment overnite and trying to catch maoist participant to put behind the jail. "

---->The second part of your claim seems a little far fetched to me. If KG wanted to "catch" maoist PRATICIPANT at the time of 'supposed' peace talk', how hard was it, in terms of physically arresting them in KTM. But that could have ended whatever tiny hope we had for 'peace'.

Perhaps you have more information for advocating your claim, but in absence of any scintilla as of now, i beg to differ of your 'claim' that KG tried to 'catch' the maoist participants to put behind the jail.

Any information regarding the incident would be appreciated.

Indisguise:)

Telephone lines were down approximately between 9 to almost 11 am Nepali time yesterday. After that it was not a problem. When I called home last night around midnight(US time), I was easily connected.

Orion,

The King is not that naive, he knows its not 2017, and there's no way he can stop people from speaking out. I think, in a week or tow, when the heat subsides, they will lift the censorship. It will be a Liberal-authritarian form of govt. for 3 years or less. You don't need a democratically elected governmnet to protect and guaranty your civil rights. Actually, in many cases, the democratically elected govts. are doing worse.. so, the recent scholarship.. (call it liberal school) has been saying that "maybe its better to strengthen the institutions of democracy first and then go for electoral democracy." I think the King will strengthen tyhe institutions of deocarcy, a free press, an impartial judiciary and such stuff, then finally had the soverignty to the people.
