anyways, yes i have already thought of a plan to help nepali women,(only holding me is money) and i will do it one day or another..i will open a scholarship program and will ONLY and ONLY educate Nepali women, a scholarship program that will give out chances to women that have no means of paying for college, or studing at school, and yes this scholarship program wont allow MALES TO BE NOMINATED...i will surely, make a diff. among these flowers of our country, MARK MY WORDS FOR IT. Well "confused" I have to admit that I am impressed by your motivation to help women in Nepal in future. It's so hard to get men to understand what women go through. If every guy in Nepal would think this way it would be worthwhile for women. Like u, I am very much involved in women related non-profits here especially in domestic violence. I plan to open some kind of non-profit too in future. Your motivation is enough I don't need to look for u after ten years to see if u really opened something. If u think this way about nepalese women then I am not pointing finger at u but to other majority of men. If women in KTM suffers that much then I can only imagine the kind of domination women have to go through iin villages. I have seen it all while I was there.

Yes, it is true that our society is built that way......... but that's not an excuse.. Nepal is still in the state of 1920's world.......if we educated ones don't help then don't know how long will it take to stop men from killing wives, to stop women as domestic dogs. Yes, even in US women's don't have the full rights, I know the history...... how women had to survive here..... but they fought for it... whatever rights they have today is because of their own determination to fight back..... Even here they don't get paid as much as their male conter even though the work is of same kind, BUSH is ignoring their basic rights of abortion etc..... I am also not denying that there are many uneducated rats who treat their wives badly. But compared to Nepal it is heaven for women. Majority of women here are independent, educated and happy. Slowly nepalese women are fighting back finally because now they have the chance to be educated and independent. But it's a long way to go before we could even compare nepali women's rights with the rights of women in USA.

If u "highfly" don't even understand what women go through or choose to ignore it then shame on u!! Do read a history of women's struggle and try to argue!! That includes your mom's struggle too!

Hey highfly, I am sorry if I offended u. But it's so necessary to get the message across u know. Yeah, it's true that human rights is important but woman are human too! They are being sold, used, dominated and even killed so I think it is equally important. And yes, u didn't know that dowry system was in Nepal, but majority of nepali men do! And more than 80 percent women suffer everyday in Nepal! And we are trying to do something....... I am involved in women's rights organizations and non-profits!! i think if someone is arguing against the traditional role of women in nepali culture and claiming that the american female freedom is what they are craving for, they cannot argue against people who see them as sex-toys.
It's hard, but not impossible, to see that this "modern" culture is turning women into sex-toys.
