NYT le yesto po bhanchha ta:
"Stymied by Republican opposition, Democrats also aim to push the boundaries of the budget reconciliation process, which has strict rules about what can and cannot be shielded from the filibuster. It calls for a path to citizenship for millions of undocumented immigrants and provisions to beef up enforcement of labor laws and penalties for employers that violate them, although those policies may ultimately be left out for violating those budgetary rules."

Yeah it’s upto senate parliamentary to decide if immigration can be considered as a budget bill, in 2005 republicans had included the immigration on budget bill and was able to passed it!! I think based on that democrats are now trying to pass immigration reform through budget bill. Dems are saying providing pathway will increase the GDP by billions and would help in economic recovery which is kind of budget stuff, and based on this they are including in budget reconciliation!! But ultimately it comes down to the decision of senate parliamentary to decide if it can be included, that’s the huge blocking. I also heard if senate parliamentary doesn’t allow immigration to be included in budget bill, senate dems or vp has the power to over to override the senate parliamentary decision, but I am not sure on that

What are the chances of moderately democratic senators like Seneca to say no on the bill?

I am not sure on that, I guess we will need all 50 senate democrats to pass it, but that’s the 2nd thing, my first main concern is Elizabeth MacDonough who is the current senate parliamentarian, I think she will decide if immigration can be included in budget bill!! If she says yes, then I have little hope that somehow democrats will agree and pass, but then again just a teeny tiny little hope with democrats if senate parliamentary agrees

No VP does not have the power to overrule the parliamentarian's decision. Biden already said he respects her decision no matter what she makes.

Republicans have used reconciliation many times when they controlled senate.

Reconciliation happens all the time (sometimes 3 times a year, I think), even there was one early this year. It is just that immigration may not impact budget (the tricky part is the policy cannot be an incidence but should impact the budget). I read on NYT that it is a nightmare situation for a parliamentarian to make that judgment. Republicans used to I think to use leftover GC quotas or H1B sth, idk.
All eyes on her probably gonna happen tomorrow early morning (Wednesday overnight).

Got it, but yeah it’s upto Elizabeth whether to include immigration in budget bill, but looking at online data like: ——- “immigration benefits all American workers. Providing a pathway to #citizenship for #Dreamers, #TPS eligible individuals, and undocumented #essentialworkers would boost U.S. GDP by a $1.5 trillion over 10 years, create 400,800 new jobs, increase annual wages by $600” —— so I kind a hope that it impacts budget — but again it all comes down to Elizabeth, but I have read somewhere that senate chairman or there’s someone that can overrule the parliamentarian, but I could be wrong, praying for it to be included and finally passéd 🙏🙏

The Democrats senators dared to bring this bill on the floor  because they have already discussed this matter  with the senate parliamentarian long time ago. Democrats lawyers have already discuss this matter with her .Its all senators who passed this precedent in 2005 to allow immigration provisions in budget bill. . This is inside job. I believe climate change is the hottest topic now .
What the hell is going on ?? Flooding , wildfire, , unprecedented heatwave, dangerous variant covid virus emerging .. is end of the world coming soon . The smokes from wildfire has reached the north pole. Scientist are already worried about it . And these mofo republicans are worried about money . Confirmed

@meraj here we are not discussing that 6th grader argument. We are not throwing stereotypical words like "taxpayers money" etc that sounds cliche. Plus the immigrants that they are trying to put into legislation have been here and paying taxes for more than 25 years.
