Hi friends! I am a finance major graduating in May and I am currently in the hunt for entry level finance positions. Ideally I'd like to get some experience in asset management or investment analysis. I am also interested in algorithmic equity trading. Do any of you  working in the financial world know of any companies that hire international students in these fields? In the current economic situation, opportunities are hard to come by and I'll have to take up whatever comes my way. However, the best case scenario for me would be to get a job in the chicago area. Based on your experience, what are some good sources to use for job search? Please share your opinions.

Firms like Goldman, Lazard, Barclays and to some extent even JPM will take 'internships' provided you are currently in a recognized school (Kellog would help). Go to their website and post for any opportunity that even remotely matches. you can also call their HR and inquire directly, it never hurts. Hiring is still tight right now, and given the glut of many analysts and asset managers that currently are unemployed, it will not be easy. But you may be able to get in with a entry level pay advantage. I would recommend you keep your 'interest' broad right now though. You can always narrow your focus once you get in. I am not sure how the job search engines work with these firms (like monster and dice). I know our firm does not particularly care for them.

Thats all I can give you. Hope this helps, and good luck!
