with three yrs degree you will not meet the 150 credit hours requirements for the CPA (Which most of the states need), as far as I know they don't give any credits even if you are an ACCA

thx for the reply ,but not all states have 150 credit requirement ,for example Colorado ..they do accept ACCAs,members just need to send a copy of their membership and sit for the test.Since I'm just an affiliate :( ,I am looking for further information .,if there is any alternative route :)

Call the CPA board in your state, they will tell you right away. February 15 is the dead line for May exam.

As far as I know, there are at least 5-6 Nepali ACCA students and affiliates/members in US doing their CPA. All of them were gone through the 150 credit hour process. You don't want to be restricted to work in other states just because your licence is from Colorado or Vermont. On top of that, it is way harder to pass the CPA exam from your ACCA knowledge. To test your knowledge, you can register in an accounting class in any community college, I bet you will get an unexpected result. So, I'd suggest you to take some accounting classes to fulfill the 150 requirements first, rather than jumping in to sit for the CPA exam with 120 and ACCA.
My two cents!!
Should you need more information, shot me an email to my sajha account.

Try Delaware state. They need only 2 yrs degree but you have to take tax class, which you can take it online . Once you are certified from Delaware , you still have to satisfy other states' education requirement if you want work in that state. The requirement for most major sates is set to change from August 2009 to 150 credit hours. Like NY still has 120 . Go to www.Beckercpa.com there you can get all the info. Good Luck.

accounting pretty tough in US..I agree with "whyhappy"..in fact, recent corporate frauds have made US GAAP more stringent, complex . a CPA degree requires a lot of commitment, hardwork and time..

actually need to create a break-even analysis, cash flow for 3years, and budget for a ficticious company. I have never taken accounting so it sounds greek to me. Just taking this class since it was a requirement but not majoring or anything on it.
