Nurbu, great work mate! Its a shame that most Neps are still intrigued by the bubble-gum pop music of Nima Rumba, Sugam Pokharel, Sindhu Malla and their likes when we have such powerful works like your "Mero Nepal" being neglected ala given a step-child status. This song should defn be nominated for the song of the year by the Nepali music industry...The lyrics were phenomenal and every bit true (rumors abound that it was Hari Maharjan of Nepathya on the guitars(??)...simply awesome)!!
and yea he speaks some good english..not like one of em singers who just are insulting english when they sing in english..and yea i nepali seems to have a lil less idea of what hes talkin bout..
Great song. I saw your live performance in Boston. It was awesome. I'm not into hiphop but I enjoyed your Baby gurl and with this song you have gained my respect and made me your fan. Hats off to you. Powerful lyrics and powerful video. 10 thumbs up.
Being a Nepali living outside of the Nepal, it always makes me happy to see a Nepali recognized by international media. I was glad to see Nepalese rapper Nurbu Sherpa's name in one of the national magazine article. Thought i would share it with you.
From the magazine of National Geographic, Intelligent Travel;
"..If the center of worldwide Sherpa culture is the Solu Khumbu, in
America it's Jackson Heights, the polyglot epicenter of Queens. At the
corner of 37th Road and 74th Street, groups of women walk by in
traditional Bhutanese robes, shopping bags from Bed Bath & Beyond
in hand. Himalaya Video, at the corner of Broadway and 72nd, is the
place to pick up a commemorative Everest T-shirt or the latest album by
rapper Nurbu Sherpa, who recently moved to New York as well.
"Representin' K.T.M.C." (short for Kathmandu City) is his big seller.
Or how about a bootleg of Nhyu Bajracharya's single "Ma Sherpa Ko
Chhoro," remixed with the sounds of an avalanche and grunting yaks?"
and it begins - on Day 1 Trump will begin operations to deport millions of undocumented immigrants
