So far there is no firm evidence to support the existence of the Yeti, but there is no way show that he doesn't exist either. If he indeed lives in the barren, frozen, upper reaches of the Himalayas where few men dare to tread, he may find his refuge safe for a long time to come... I read this somewhere recently while looking for this mythical abominable snow man. Westerners seem to debate about this topic with keen interest rather than we who live among them re kya:)and interestingly some of them think it exists ...We grew up bombarded with images of mythical yeti...yeti churot remember when we secretly tried to quench our thirst for smoking trying to look like a man...that evolved to shikhar or surya for later generation...he-he...yeti this..yeti that.. Some yeti footprints were unbelievably true But do you think Yetis live among us?or have some personal experience with them?

The Yeti could be a guy from Solukhumbu who is mischievous , has never shaved, never cuts his hair, grows long nails, has a large shoe size, drinks a lot and wonders around the mountains to let off some steam. Far-fethed? Read this : - http://www.rfthomas.clara.net/news/marion.html Happy Saturday! :)

Lady_croft, Precious as an Yeti.Wouldn't that be wonderful like peeking through mercury coated glass closed windows of an automobile.Yetis can see the world...world can't.If demoted in my next life wouldn't mind to be an yeti.Isn't that precious? he-he...still enjoying talking to an yeti..

Izen, I want to share with you my third-hand yeti experience. I was little, may be 10-12 years old. My grand father read me a travel story written by Yogi Narihari Nath during his travel to Muktinath. Unfortunately I do not remember the name of the magazine. All I remember is the story he read to me. In that story Yogi Narihari Nath claims that he saw a yeti. According to his descriptions Yeti was about 7 feet tall, foot print was about 12 inches and had four fingers, body was covered with white hair and the arms were rather longer than human. Yogi was traveling with a team of about 15 people that included porters and fellow travelers. They were passing a snow packed area (pardon me I don?t remember the details) all of a sudden he saw that a Yeti surpassed him from the side. He was amazed and took his camera out. The camera he had was old (considered an older model at that time) and took the picture, by the time he had the camera ready and took the picture yeti was already at a distance. The weather condition was not good due to those reasons the picture was not good and it is hard to identify the yeti from the picture. He had published the sketch of the yeti based in what he saw. Later on my grandfather passes away and I did my SLC from Padmpodaya High School. I waiting for the SLC result and learned that Yogi Natihari Nath was in town. I visited him at a place he was staying on the side of Gorakhnath temple at Pashupati. I talked to Yogi NarihariNathji exclusively about his encounter with Yeti and I insisted that I wanted to see the picture he had taken. Yogiji had one of his helpers look for the picture in the storage where he had all his books, historical archives and pictures stored. After several hours of search the helper could not locate the picture and Yogiji dismissed the search at that point for the "not-so-good" picture and we talked in detail about the yeti. Here is what I recall from that discussion. Yeti was walking really fast, much faster than he could ever travel. (Yogiji was considered one of the fasters walker/hiker of his times and could walk for days without slowing down or taking a rest according to his close aides). When he inquired about the yeti with the locals the locals called it शिबजीको दुत, and said if you leave them alone he (yeti) will not harm you. I used to visit monasteries and have seen the skull of a yeti in monasteries which is considered good luck. The skull of the yeti looks more like the top of the coconut shell with the visible signs of nerves. Based on my discussion with Yogiji and seeing the skull of the yeti in monasteries I have little doubt about yeti; it is a matter of finding it..

SHIV, I remember the story when I was really young.Yogi Naraharinath was performing Kotihom If I am not mistaken about world peace and sort of known as big shot of his link to the palace. I remember him posting that picture in one of his book that was distributed during the kotihom.Didn't go in to the details but saw a picture that did resemble the traditional image of the yeti. Thanks for sharing your insight.
